hello

i have a domain.com and a vps server

i only have one static ip address
my current domain.com points to that ip address where my website files are located.

can i set up a nameserver such as ns1.mydomain.com with the same ip address or is it useless or it does not matter whether i do so or not :D ?

also if i can set it up with same ip address, can i set up another one ns2.domain.com with the same ip? lol

thank you

If it is a .com name you no longer need two ns records.

You can't make both name serrvers the same IP, all the services I've used will complain.

Other than that there is no problem having the site, dns and/or other services on the same address.

This is strange as NONE of the services I have used will complain about this. Is this a correct thing to do is another question though...

Each nameserver should have a unique IP. In actuality each IP should be geographically different (ie.. not on the same server).

Exactly my point. However, my experience is that none of the registrars will complain about 20 nameservers with the same IP...
