Really 250TB in/out you can only get 32TB if you max those 24/7. PLUS OVH will likely cap you, they don't let you sell to most countries.

How can you claim that ppl can expect 250 TB IN/OUT per month
This is technically impossible on 100mbit port(and even if you would have added a 0 too much the prices are highly unrealistic)

hmm was looking at ordering one of these, has anyone got one or heard back from them?

I've had a few email replies from them in which they have answered all my questions promptly.

I have not yet purchased a server from them, but if I do I will let you guys know how they are.

I guess the only thing that makes me think twice is the steep setup fee and that the host is very new.

Some additional information that you guys might be interested in. They say they have a maximum of 6 servers per 100Mbit port.

Strange. OVH guarantee their 100mbps, not share it with 5 others...

I've had few.. er... a lot! mails with they. Not bought yet just because the setup fee. It could be easily waived, or at least lowered if they really wants some profit over new customers (without raise the monthly price), since OVH doesn't charge any setup fee (at least for direct customers).

Indeed, the setup fees are extremely high and are more than what the server costs per month which I've never seen anywhere else before.

The server I'm interested in is the [D.04] which costs 79Euro a month with a setup fee of 139Euro which is ridiculous.

As for the bandwidth I'm not sure. I'm guessing thats why the servers are cheap. They buy 1 100Mbit port and have 6 servers to it which decreases the cost for them and allows them to sell cheap servers. This of course sacrifices speed.

Again, I'm not sure is OVH allows this but if they say thats how they have it setup I don't see why not.

Cheers

But they said the 1gbps servers can push 250TB.

The teorical 1gbps max (including the protocol headers and packets) is 324TB, then it means the servers aren't shared.

Actually it seems they don't even know what they say.. hehe

See http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=692614

And 100mbps is about 40TB, I don`t know for sure.

Best Regards,
Sales Team,
Brian Slit.

100mbps max is near 32TB!

And just to let you know: i've had some mails with a salesgirl (35!). First, she said they can't lower the setup because they're a 10ppl company (?) - if they are big enough to pay 10 employees they _must_ be profitable company already, then they have ways to even WAIVE it for customers intersted in long-term partnerships or contracts.

Thereafer, SHE made me an offer (with a ~20% setup fee), then i said "ok" (still wondering where the 10 employees gone!) and start trade my [in hands] money for paypal with friends for instant buy (I use an internation pre-paid mastercard CC and they have a 3-4 delay to allow transactions). In this meantime, she got back and sent me another e-mail saying the offer can't be provided anymore. Lol!

You can also compare these prices (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=692614&page=2) with this new prices (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=694309). They lowered it because they was buying with ovh.pl, where the servers have an higher price. Then I asked through mail why they do this, if they have a Luxembourg division, allowing they to buy from ovh.com that is the cheaper in the .com/co.uk/de/es/pl range... lol again! They should give an free server just for the money they will save every months! haha! Not to mention Luxembourg based companies win 5-15 eternal domains (as while as the servers is up) while Polish ones doesn't have any goodies.

I really want to deal with Zibbix, but they doesn't look serious enough. Still searching a reliable company/reseller for 1gbps servers (and even 10/100mbps unmetered vps and dedis) - and of course, waiting if Zibbix start to talk serious with serious people trying to buy.

Regards,

sherl0k

The numbers look good to me but they almost look *too* good. The setup fee is that high probably because they want an instant profit up front and don't expect customers to stick around longer than a couple months. Which makes me wonder where the catch is.

So has anyone plunked down the setup fee and ordered? I'm interested to see how the service is.

I ordered a server at 19 april, server was one day later online.

I am still waiting for the second IP and the server ControlPanel (I should get them 12 hours after the server delivery).

If I upload a file from the server to a server in Amsterdam, the speed starts at 12MByte/s and drops to 1.4MByte/s at stays there. If I do the same with the testfile in the startpost, i can download the full file at 12MByte/s. From my server in Amsterdam to the dedicated server can use the full 12MByte/s. I adressed this problem in a ticket and they forwarded the problem to Network Manage Support. I don't have a reaction on the problem yet.

Conclusion:
- Server online in one day and works.
- Still no access to the server controlpanel
- Upload speed low (at this point).
- Customer service is OK, first reaction is fast, but with bigger problems (connection speed, access CP) you have to wait longer than promised.

If anyone has any questions, just ask.

I've noticed something strange re pricing

They are selling their D.01 server for
19 EUR / month
Setup fee 79 EUR

or

119 EUR / Per Quarter with no setup fee

Now if my sums are correct if paying mothly it would be 57 euros for the quarter + the 79 EUR setup fee = 136 EUROS

Now if paid quarterly it would be 119 EUR with NO setup fee however this would equate to 39 EUROS per month

So your not really getting a better deal by paying quarterly with zero setup as your paying an extra 20 EUROS per month which over 12 months would be 240 EUROS meaning they'd make an extra 161 EUROS a year if you pay quarterly which is twice the setup fee + they'll make that year on year!

Is this right or have I missed something?

I don't mind the high setup fee honestly, as long as the company is legit and I'm not getting screwed out of service. If I can pay 20 euros a month afterwards, and that price doesn't change, it's definitely worth my while. But I just need some sort of a confirmation that everything is exactly how it looks on paper.

I suppose I should actually contact their sales department instead of waiting for a reply here, but I would think the OP would at least have the decency to address people here in the public instead of responding privately. I'd feel a little more safe if there was another post here. It'd quash my doubts.

I think you're missing something, actually customer can take advantage out of this. Zibbix are new in this industry, so they expect new customers. Monthly contract = instant profit, since they charged high setup fees.

If you take the quarter payment only in the first quarter and then continue with the month to month contract, eventually you can reap the profit instead of continues to pay quarterly compared to taking monthly contract from the beginning. I think Pils understands this better.

The main problems would be the legitimacy of the company and the bad support of OVH. Can you take the heat?
