I am interested but what protection do I have that you won't raise the rates a month down the road?

That's a very good question, Trent.

That price is a one time setup fee.

Accounts can't be deleted either.

I'm pretty certain i'm right, if i'm not, correct me :)

You are right.

But the parent reseller can raise the price.

hey,
i just checked and that's correct, every reseller can raise the prices after the account is setup. I didn't know that.

I cannot remove your account when you have one domain name in it.

You have to choices:

1. trust the person You get your account from

2. get your account directly from enom, but You have to invest $6950 to get the prices I offer for $24.95 setup fee.

I can state here that I won't raise the prices.

regards,
Thomas

Ah, you have a bad experience with enomreseller? Tell us about it. Did he raise the prices on you? Refused to refund your money?

Oh, hang on.. you are also an enom reseller as I see in your signature. Now I am confused. Why then did you make that post? Trying to undermine the credibility of our competitors are we?

So tell me MrZippy, how do YOU assure your clients? Did you perhaps make a videotape of yourself with your hand on the bible swearing to God almighty that you will not raise the prices and do you send that tape to all your customers?

Actually, I have had a bad experience with an eNom reseller. Long story short, the guy was a jerk and I had to contact eNom directly to move my sub-account away from him.

Nice. As you know, there's really not much we resellers can do to reassure potential customers. This is why I posted above.. because "promising" a potential customer you will never raise prices is somewhat misleading. I have no problem with anyone saying that, but potential customers need to realize there's absolutely no way you (or I) can be legally bound by such a promise made on a forum like this.

Even a videotape of ourselves swearing on the bible wouldn't be enough. It's a tremendous risk for potential customers to trust any of us, and that's what I'm trying to point out.

When a customer asks me if I ever will raise prices, I say that I will not.. but then I also tell them that they must make their "parent reseller" decision based on trust and respect for the selected reseller.

This is why many companies (such as AQdomains.com) are doing quite well in this area.. because they have a solid reputation in the forums, even if their prices are a tiny bit higher.

When someone like enomreseller says they won't raise prices, and is a newbie.. then what value does such a promise hold? I was simply trying to make potential customers realize that there's more to the decision than a non-binding "I promise I won't do that" statement.

Sorry for offending you.

Cheers.

My apologies for being a bit harsh. Not my style usually.

After hours of reading this board which for a large part consists out of host that try and make other hosts black, not to mention having to compete with "companies" that offer the world (and as a special deal for WTH members only: the moon) for $ 1.95 your one liner post with the arrogant smiley snapped something in me :D

Your nice response to a not so nice message makes me a little ashamed now though.

No worries.. I've done the same thing myself a few times! I generally try to be forthright and succint in my posts, but you're right.. that one liner was a bit too brief. I should have explained my thoughts.

Cheers!
