Greetings,

I have searched the forums for comments regarding East Coast Servers, but I haven't found any input from their customers.

Has anyone here signed up for their service? How's the speed, support, etc?

Thanks

There have been a couple of posts here about them, you might want to try searching for "eastcoastservers" (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?query=eastcoastservers&forumchoice=-1&booleanand=yes&searchin=all&searchdate=-1&searchuser=&searchdateline=&exactname=yes&action=dosearch&getdaily=&pagenum=).

I think that East Coast Servers may be an economical choice if you want to push a lot of high bandwidth static files through. Just get a 350MHz/32MB/1.2GB server for $79 a month, install thttpd, and transfer away. You can use up to 1.54Mbps, which allows ~500 GB transfer per month.

Possible pitfalls:

- their reliability is unproven
- in a previous post, the owner of EastCoastServers said "If your site is too much for my humble server park I will tell you." but did not provide specifics when asked in the thread

My suggestion to you:

- e-mail EastCoastServers with all your questions
- setup an automatic monitoring program to check the uptime of their clients (www.bipolarbrain.com and http://www.how2spy.com)

and see how it goes.
