Hi there,
We are thinking in launching a reselling service for Lunarpages, with JSP (Resin) and ASP (Chilisoft) support. Using Cpanel.
How would you like to have the reselling plans packaged in terms of storage, bandwidth and ips?

Hi Maximiliam
I hope that you wont try bulkreseller packages supporting JSP on all them!

What exactly do you mean?

JSP is very resource intensive, I believe this is what Jorge means...

Kinda Matt :)
I mean, that it wont be wise to offer JSP/Servlets support in all your plans, specially if you offer Bulk Resellers Plans.

I know JSP is resource intensive. But it is not that resource intesive if you use the correct engine.
I believe the resource issue would be my problem not offering oversubscribed servers.
It really does not matter if it is resource intensive or not. That was not my question :)

No problem, i know you where only trying to help. Thanks for making me even more aware :)
I just think it might be a nice twist to offer a ASP and JSP option in a reselling package.
I was mainly wondering what the best way to package reselling packages.

if you want to specialize in that.. you could find a host that sells VMs / VEs and fix it up with tomcat for your clients.
but you'd be wasting a lot of money and time going after those guys.. JSP developers usually develop on their own boxes and once its finished, it goes straight to big momma app servers.
When a company pays the developer $150/hr to do the work, they can sure as hell afford to pay large hosting costs.

Tomcat is a really sucky JSP / Servlet engine.. would never use it :)
You are wrong about JSP clients.. Not all of them or most of them go for the full dedicated server option. We get atleast a couple of signups a day that require JSP and Servlets.
I know how JSP and Servlets work, i know how much resources it takes. We have used it in our current packages for over 6 months now.
Lets not get sidetracked anymore...
Anyone that do have some input on how to package your reseller accounts? What kind of packages works best for you?
