View Full Version : TimPD, earhost.com, paradise-designs.net All a SCAM!!
Vortech 08-24-2002, 12:13 AM Well now after waiting and being very nice with Mr. Tim.
About 2 months ago in TimPD's little Cpanel scam, we got it as well. He told us "I will issue you a refund." Then it was "the refund is on its way." Then it was "my merchant account is messed up wait till the end of the month." Then the best one of all "they closed my merchant account and I can't do a refund."
I said Check, PayPal, money order, Wire some thing.. Well to say the least I don't hear **** out of him now.
I also recently found out that Tim also did not pay the designer that designed http://www.MatrixReseller.com and http://www.rapidcolo.com for us. Until this week I was under the impression that Tim had done the design because that is what he told me. However, I have now spoken with the real designer. This upsets me. I really hate the fact he ripped me off but now I see he has ripped off someone else and god only knows how many others.
Now I see Mr. Tim is looking to hire more designers, so I am posting this to let everyone know *BEWARE*!! You can view the post here http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=68841&perpage=15&pagenumber=1
You can also see in this post on Page 5 where he posted he was sending us a refund. Well that never happend.
http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=59652&perpage=15&highlight=cpanel&pagenumber=1
Tim, I have been more than fair with you and have worked with you in every way possible but this ihas gotten way out of hand.
So who else got screwed by this A$$ hole kid?
Techark 08-24-2002, 12:20 AM Wonder how long before they lock this thread?
viGeek 08-24-2002, 12:21 AM Wow, Vortech I feel your pain. I can remember when coming to this forum, to expect a level professionalism between individuals and companies. After all this is a forum dedicated to individuals seeking web hosting, and web hosting companies talking. I would never expect to see someone get ripped off around here, but my views have changed. The reason I say this is, I came over here from a Buick Car Forum, people would sell parts and get ripped off, but you would never expect in a community like this. Well I guess shi* happens, hopefully you can get this issue worked out, and get your money back.
Best of luck to ya,
- Anthony
Andrew 08-24-2002, 12:22 AM heh...I give this thread a ttl of about a half hour
edude 08-24-2002, 12:23 AM Whats the url to the new designer TimPD scammed?
URL as in the topic in the forum.
NetXL 08-24-2002, 12:24 AM I think this confirms that Tim can't be trusted.

Vortech 08-24-2002, 12:27 AM The user he ripped off i will leave un-named. But he is on this forum so he can post here if he likes.. :)
That's for sure, he can't be trusted.. I am sure this post will get closed or whatever but its all facts that can be backed up. I am sure Tim will go cry to a MOD about this within 10 mins of seeing it.
FHDave 08-24-2002, 12:30 AM Well, I am not that interested to see how soon this thread will be closed but rather how fast this thread will grow ... I think by the next hal an hour this thread may already hit the second if not third page :)

TimPD 08-24-2002, 12:33 AM Brad, We have had problems with our merchant provider processing the refunds. They said the refunds was send out and I'm still waiting to find out what is wrong. To be honest I'm literally sick of messing with merchant companes. It is becoming old. This same thing happened to JayJay and a few others. Refunds was processed but not received for some and and some did and some didn't. It gets old. Mods, Please Close This thread. I'm speaking to Brad now and handling the issue. If anyone hasn't gotten there refund PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP We will process your refund via PayPal if you have that if not we can do this via Credit Card.

Vortech 08-24-2002, 12:36 AM Oh so now the merchant account is still open?? Which lie is it?? Can't keep them straight??
This must be a record for you to try and get a thread closed so people won't know how much money you rip companies and people out of.
TimPD 08-24-2002, 12:37 AM I don't sit at WHT all day. I have other things to do. I just come here and noticed it.
iamdave 08-24-2002, 12:37 AM The saga continues...
TimPD 08-24-2002, 12:38 AM No. The merchant account closed our account we're doing our best to work with them even know it is closed.

This doesn't say it is closed. This is just another retarded excuse. Hell, it's the same one I have heard about 100 times now.
Synthetic 08-24-2002, 12:43 AM If you're having constant problems with online CC merchants, why not send out a check, or money order?
iamdave 08-24-2002, 12:43 AM Tim, what's the excuse for not paying the designer for his work?

The refund will be processed via PayPal in 3-4 days. I will in matter facts send some of the refund tomorrow. I need to rebuild the funds in PayPal.
Moderators - Please Contact Me and Close This Thread or deal with it in the proper way. Thank Ya!...
Vortech 08-24-2002, 12:44 AM Synthetic we have asked the same thing.. :( Even gave him a paypal address to send it to.. Nothing..
Synthetic 08-24-2002, 12:45 AM Heh... yet in another thread, he stated that payments could also be processed by either check or money order.
CubeXHosting 08-24-2002, 12:45 AM Why do you want the thread closed? No one has started a cursing/flame war and this can be useful to people. So why do you need this thread closed?

** 7/5/2002 (7:35:25 PM) IM with -PDSupports-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PDSupports (7:35:25 PM): yea
Tekniq404 (7:36:21 PM): But -- I have no idea why you're asking me for info when you can't issue a refund for a Cpanel license.
PDSupports (7:36:28 PM): I can
PDSupports (7:36:33 PM): I never said I wouldn't
PDSupports (7:36:37 PM): I just said we couldn't find your info
Tekniq404 (7:37:00 PM): You should've ... it's your billing system.
PDSupports (7:39:32 PM): i will see if I can't find it
Tekniq404 (7:54:16 PM): I don't mean to be rude about -- it would just be a thing that most people would do? Considering you shouldn't have to pay for the license either since it wasn't open on whatever date Cpanel bills you for them. But I don't know how things worked for you since you weren't a partner or whatever.
PDSupports (5:06:57 PM): btw I will process your refund while i'm at it
PDSupports (5:07:17 PM): since this will require some more searching though ttransactions
Tekniq404 (5:08:22 PM): sounds good. thanks
But you finally did refund me (just this past week) after months of pestering, I give you that much. But I still say you need to finish some more schooling and learn some morals and business practices before you continue to do business in the real world.

2 reasons.

2) Timmy is arrogant enough to believe that the moderators should be his personal cleanup crew.
I'm just bumping up my posts.... before the thread gets closed... :)

I don't see any "flame wars", I see a kid getting mad and not knowing how to deal with the situation he caused himself.
These issues could have been handled off board, if you addressed them off the board and delivered on your word. But you obvouisly haven't done that. Hense the use of the board.

Vortech 08-24-2002, 12:56 AM Supposedly I am now getting $110 of my money tonight and the remainder by 9am Monday morning. I am not counting on it and our friend is doing his best to make sure that this thread is gone by then so I can't let you all know what the outcome is. Trust me, you will find out in some way, shape or form what the outcome is irregardless of his lil tantrum.
It's sad I had to make this post just to get him to say he would send me my money, yet again.

He promptly PM'd me and asked for my paypal information, and mentioned he was sick of this. Then he promptly sent me some money, but I heard he was in a hurry to get the money from someone he needed a refund from. So who knows if he has funds.
If he doesn't pay you back, I would consider gathering people up together that he owes money and going after his parents via collection agency. I think it would be a nice lesson. But that's just my thoughts.

I didn't either until my other thread, I thought of it. Because someone mentioned it.
But I considered that he might not live with his parents, and it would just do damage to them. Or maybe his parents wouldn't even care and it wouldn't be a lesson to him.
Either way. From what it sounds like, he owes alot of people money. (Maybe even powersurge still for Cpanel?)
Sometimes kids just need to learn a lesson before they can do things properly.

A) I'm not your "buddy".
B) Isn't it a bit late to try to justify yourself? Most of these refunds are MONTHS overdue. Don't justify yourself, just deliver. Tim delivered to me, now it's time for other people. He also lied to me (tried to justify himself and make himself look good) after he made the refund. My log clearly shows that he's bull****ting. (One conversation posted earlier in this thread, no more proof is needed.)
C) Since TimPD has joined over to your company, you can consider all Tim's ****ups, to be associated with your company.
I bet you didn't really put much thought into that, eh? But it's life.
D) I don't think Tim knows too much, maybe because he's young. But you don't pay back owed money months down the road, that's not how business works. Maybe he should be paying more attention to his parents and high school classes?
Website Rob 08-24-2002, 01:53 AM Can we tone it down guys? Nobody here is wearing halos and instead of making lame jokes, let's keep the thread on track. It starting to look like a grade 2 class where the Teacher has stepped out of the classroom.
Perhaps you are aware of one or two other companies (in current threads) that also owe people money -- and for more than few weeks. Don't see you taking pot-shots at them.
Sure Tim screwed up, so did Earhost from what I recall, so did ??? I'm sure you can name a few yourself. Those looking for money probably want to read about what's going on -- even if it looks like nothing at the moment. Reading lame jokes and stupid banter doesn't do anyone any good. Start your own thread if that's case.
No, I'm not defending the situation created by PD or anyone else, just that I hate to see Adults acting like schoolyard bullies because no Supervisor is around.

warning us of tims actions is ok...but don't over do the whole 'tim makes retarded comments'

Unless you file for Chapter 11 here in the states and get to "reorganize" your debts.

IGobyTerry 08-24-2002, 01:58 AM He'd prolly have to go for Chapter 7 (liquidation) if his parents couldn't bail him out because it seems he owes a lot of money to a lot of different people.

I believe that's somewhat true. People may get mislead and avoid your company, because of the fact that Tim is one of your employees. To be honest, that is one of the reasons that kept me from signing-up with you.
And it's not like Tim has paid his debts, they are STILL running. That would be like hiring a child molester to babysit your kids.
jayjay 08-24-2002, 01:58 AM Can we tone it down guys?
Ok MOM!
Seriously though, this is the *only* way to get answers from TimPd and have him come through. I know from experiance, he promised to me several times of a refund speaking to him directly or over PM and email. It never happened. Soon as a thread popped up on WHT, he answered.
So it's not that people really want to do this, it's that he doesn't deliver on his word. So people have to take their business here.
fractiousws 08-24-2002, 01:59 AM Why would it be your responsibility?
It really isn't my responsibility but it is something that needs to be done because of posts like this.
A) I'm not your "buddy".
Now now. Not so hostile ;)
Justify MYself? Like I said, we are paying people back bit by bit. You were the first. I might take some while but we wil pay everyone back.

Piano 08-24-2002, 02:03 AM And look at this interesting message I found, from a former customer of Tim's.
Probably the worst host in existence. I joined on recommendation by someone I knew but she also did not realise the extent of this persons lies. Run by an operator going by the name Tim, he rarely pays his bills, his servers are down a lot, his cpanel never worked at all the whole time I was with him. THEN when I wanted to move and requested a refund (naturally, as I didn't have a working site and was losing money) he said he would fight me legally! Many members suffered at his hands and some went to great lengths to investigate him. The amount of information gathered was mind boggling. Ranging from him being much younger as he claims to someone even discussing his finances on the phone with a company he deals with and how he is always in collections with the services he provides. His real name, address etc were also uncovered. I have vowed to fight him for my refund and have reported him to AMEX as I found his threat very intimidating as he has my credit card details. Watch this space for updates. I still haven't recieved my refund.

Can my company be a subsidiary or I be a partner I have car payments and rent to pay :) and a almost maxed credit card would you be willing to help me pay it back? If so were do I sign up?
j/k tone was getting pretty harsh in here, but I see it coming back down to a sensible level. People just get mad when you owe them money. Money breaks up most marriages :|
jayjay 08-24-2002, 02:06 AM Now now. Not so hostile
I wasn't. I was telling you the truth. I don't get hostile over the Internet, it's useless.
Justify MYself? Like I said, we are paying people back bit by bit. You were the first. I might take some while but we wil pay everyone back.
Just seems as you're playing Mommy, sweeping in to the rescue and saying nothing wrong was done. But you're going to take care of everybody.
To each it's own. I'm glad I got my refund, it's not like I was going broke because of it. But when someone promises you a refund several times, it should be there. Get what I'm saying?
Like I said before, I had nothing to do with him back then. But now that he is a part of earhost we will do our best to pay everyone back in a timely manner.
Yes, but I think you knew what you were getting into when he "joined you". Or not? : )
Anyways.. no need for you to jump in and reply to this and get defensive.
It will just fuel the fire. But I'm sure once you pay everybody back and Tim grows up a bit. People will be on their knees for you.

TimPD 08-24-2002, 02:19 AM Hello,
I didn't want to do this but it looks as I don't have much of a choice.
James is aware who we owe money to and knows the situation about that etc. First of all Brad from Vortech Hosting will be Refunded as well as those that are left if the refunds didn't go
though. I personally apoglize for this if you didn't receive your refunds cause of our merchant account company which happens. No, It wasn't cause of Chargebacks cause we only had 1
from one client that never got her welcome email that was send 100+ times.
If you people have the guts to say something then talk to me on AIM you know my contact information
PDSupports
ICQ : 76176606
If you want to discuss this over phone please PM me or AIM me and get a piece of my mind to.
This bull**** doesn't belong here at Web Hosting Talk. We may owe people money which we do cause of Refunds that didn't process though.
Keep James and the company we partnered with out of this. They have nothing to do with it. The company has a good reputation , happy clients and will continue to be that way
regardless of what gets in the way.
Some people just like to try to destory a company cause they can't get there little ways and get pissed off. Come on you people you're a bunch of adults just like others around here and
you act like a 10 year old. Get a life and grow up. If your business is doing so well then you shouldn't be here refreshing with a bag of popcorn every second just to see what others have
to say about us.
Get out of others business and stay in your own. If you're so "big" as you people say then quit trying to act like an idiot around here..
We have made a problem we're trying to correct. It takes time to correct and it takes time to recover a mistake you made. We had a large loss with the cPanel issue and yes we will
admit that . We suffered a major loss and sometimes it takes a bit of time to recover from that loss.
You people care about yourself more then others. What if this was you in the situation we been put though? No don't make excuses and say you wouldn't let it get this far. You loose a
loss you suffer a loss. If I had a check for whatever we owe just to sit down and write it out I wouldn't hesitate. It takes time to recover a major loss.
Everyone will be refunded eventually in a timely manner.. Now I'm done with this post. If you have anymore questions or problems and then have the guts to talk to me on AIM or ICQ
or on the phone.

Now i'm still not taking sides but I would like to add this one comment:
Tim: your deceitful acts (and those of others too, wouldn't want you to feel singled out  ) have caused the industries client base and potential market to be overcautious in purchase hosting/domains/design etc. this means that it's harder for the established and legit companies to maintain a successful and strong client base. That makes it our business :)
I can't tell you how many times I get can email that says "can i expect you to shut down in 6 months like <insert folded company here> did?" That shows that customers are coming into the market with a set thought, and that thought is "trust no one in the industry" and that is just down right wrong. I

IGobyTerry 08-24-2002, 02:30 AM This bull**** doesn't belong here at Web Hosting Talk. We may owe people money which we do cause of Refunds that didn't process though.

It was funny though... I was doing a search on Google yesterday for Cpanel Licenses. I forget the keywords I used but the 2nd match was something about "Tim not refunding cpanel..." or something like that. I just brushed it off.
Now that I read about his CPanel scam.... I put 2 and 2 together. Go figure. I tried remembering the exact keywords I used but I found no luck... Though if you look at the link below you will see what I saw.

Well sort of. We do gyproc and insulation. I have to suite up and go in when a worker is out sick and we have a tight deadline.

net-trend 08-24-2002, 03:40 AM I am sorry but i just have to ask, how old is TimPD actually?
phpcoder 08-24-2002, 03:41 AM net-trend - You will NEVER find that answer anywhere ;)
To my knowledge (from what I have read) he is under 17.

net-trend 08-24-2002, 03:44 AM How can anyone under 17 own and run a webhosting service? I mean shouldn't a teen enjoy life? Study, shag, play with girls and the like? I know that's what I did when i was 17....

CritticAge 08-24-2002, 03:45 AM Did Tim ever answer with a reason about the design talked about by Vortech?
Synthetic 08-24-2002, 03:47 AM I don't see why people have such a concern over Tim's age.
Even people over 30 can have the mental capacity of a 2 year old, so he wouldn't have to be 17...
phpcoder 08-24-2002, 03:48 AM I think its mainly because he isn't of age to legally bind a contract.
Or as he says "I never liked to sign contracts and I never will".
Its up to you to pick which one you want to believe.
net-trend 08-24-2002, 03:48 AM Age has a great influence on maturity, knowledge and experience.
Yes a 30 yr old can be as stupid as a 2 year old, but how many of these 30 yr olds run a business? Let alone watch tv?

Exactly, the guy knows what he is doing and is pretty darn good at it. From my perspective age isn't really a concern. I don't hear people complaining about a young web developer? As long as they are good at what they do age isn't a concern.
Synthetic 08-24-2002, 03:51 AM Okay, but how did the majority of people come to the conclusion that Tim is 17? Is this an asumption, or is it based on facts?

Agreed 100%. But web-hosting is also a bit different. You don't have people paying large sums of money monthly for web-design. You don't collocate tons of expensive equipment.

So, if you will never find that answer anywhere, how can you be so sure how old he is? Exactly, from what you've read! That is what alot of people around here get there opinion from. LIke I said, alot of people around here are followers. The run with the majority.

period.
Hostkookster 08-24-2002, 03:57 AM From being a total outsider to all of this, and reading for endless hours of complaints from people who are owed money, not just on this forum, ON THE WEB! TIM IS FAMOUS.
I have to say, Tim damn man you so brought this on yourself! And so you should be punished. :smash:
However should only be directed at Tim, Not James, nor Earhost. They are %100 innocent of all of this.
Tim, maybe the webhosting business isn't your thing. No maybe business in general. To be honest as honest can be i'd leave business all together before you find yourself mixed up in corporate fraud later on down the road.
Thats just MHO. And i think i'll add another 2 cents to the jar. Whoever came up with this $0.02 thing must really be making some fat royalty checks! :stickout

Just because someone is young doesn't mean they don't have common sense and abilities. For example, I have a 16 year old working for my gyprocking company...and I would say he is the hardest and the best working from them all. Some of the workers have over 7 years experience.

James, while you are right about this. Doing a good job does not reflect good business ethics. It only reflects skill in a certain area.
TimPD 08-24-2002, 03:58 AM Alot of people wonder why we don't reveal the age of myself or any of our staff. We feel age isn't a major important issue in Web Hosting. We're known to provide Quality & Reliable Service and age doesn't matter. We're not run by a bunch of 12 year olds or anything like that. Our staff is highly trained in everything they do. Age isn't important in Web Hosting. You get quailty service, support, service, come to a profitable and reliable company then age isn't that much of a difference. All contracts we sign are legally binded..
edude 08-24-2002, 04:00 AM I wish i had a "profitbable" company aswell ;)

no, no. Don't close this thread just yet. Very odd when it was an all out blood bath against earhost/Tim you didn't want the thread closed. But now when we are starting to make a few good points you jump all over the idea.
jayglate 08-24-2002, 04:06 AM Despite what you think Tim. AGE DOES Matter. It matters when you host other peoples business's they need to feel comfortable and secure that you arn't going to disappear or not pay your bills. Today any kid can start a web hosting company and it is just to easy for a kid to try and start one and disappear when he says ohh i don't want to do it anymore.
That practice hurts businesses like mine and others who depend on ths for their livelyhood. Pegasus/Mehost has employes and these employes have families and these families depend on pegasus/mehost to do well and grow, so they can grow. I belive that this is an important issue that needs to be dealt with.
Just my 2.5 cents.
Thanx for listening.
