hi,
well i pulled the trigger and went with acunett. i hope my educated guess was a good one but that's not what i'm writing about.
this site uses plesk and wow...i had no idea how much cpanel does for you. i mean you have to tell plesk everything.
and even though i think i'm setting things up right, i'm not 100% sure.
anyone know how to test your inputs while the dns is still propogating?
and i was also wondering since most of the spots are my own clients, and they live in texas, does sales tax play into this at all?
or does anyone know?
Just let me say congratulations and good luck in your venture!
Also most of our clients, or most of our marketing effort, concentrates on our local area as well, and you bring up a good point about tax. I will be interested in hearing the response. But I'm not ignoring marketing on the inet either ;) just don't spend as much...

Usually, if the people live in the same state that the company is registered in, then they need to pay taxes.
But this is for products so I am not sure.
Thank You
According to Texas Sales tax code, computer services are not taxable unless you are charging for data entry.
ie, Hosting is not a taxable service in Texas.
Best of luck!

I am pretty sure but I could be wrong but Rackshack who is located in Texas charges for all services both shared and dedicated hosting so I think that it is the opposite. I know it all pretty much varys from state to state but I am 99.9% sure on that one.
It absolutely is a state issue. I don't know about Texas, but for a definitive answer you should contact the Secretary of State's office, or state finance/tax department. Or, of course, just choose your favorite of the varying answers of different forum users... what do you have to lose? :)

that's exactly what i'm afraid of. texas legal types and tax types don't mess around.
at least they aren't tabc (tx alcoholic beverage commission) they have more power than any other body in the state except for the game wardens.
