kevworks
05-16-2008, 03:24 PM
Hi,

Sorry If we do not get all your questions, we are now being flooded with questions.

DirectAdmin is the cheapest we can give them out for, everything else is at cost.

You won't find a better deal on a quad core processor with 100mbps unmetered traffic with always on kvm/ip and remote reboots.

Stock is dwindling down to the last few.

Thanks,

cheaptraffic

Can we get CentOs 5.1 32bit instead of 64 bits?

HolySpirit
05-16-2008, 04:43 PM
hello i have the same question about OS bits and need to know if is 10mbps dedicated UP and DOWN, no limit on speeds for outside country traffic?

so the main question is if i can download 3TB and upload 3TB with my connection (all 6TB) thx

kevworks
05-16-2008, 05:24 PM
Hi,

You can have centos 5 32 bit,

Second question.

Its 10mbit total, which allows for 3.3tb transfer total.

The bandwidth upgrades only good at the time or purchase. If you purchase today with 10mbps unmetered and next week you want 100mbps the price of 150.00/month is no longer applicable.

Thanks,

HolySpirit
05-16-2008, 05:58 PM
last 3 questions sorry

first, 10mbit total do you mean that i can only download 3.3tb or only upload 3.3tb? if i download 1.650tb i only can upload more 1.650tb?

second, about the 100mbps upgrade the price is for whole server or is an aditional price? 100 (server) + 150 (100mbps link) or just 150 (server + 100mb link)?

third, where can i go to buy this special offer? just contact with email with the setup wanted and pay now through paypal/credit card or pay when the server is setup?

thx

kevworks
05-16-2008, 06:02 PM
The port is capped at a maximum of 10mbps at any given time. So the total transfer is 3.3tb, in + out.

If you are worried that this is not enough, I would suggest you add the 100mbps package on top. This will allow you to have 10tb and you would not need to worry about your server having a slow connection speed.

The price for the 100mbps is an additional 150 dollars, so the total would 250 dollars.

Contact sales and we will get you setup asap!

Thanks,

cheaptraffic
05-16-2008, 08:27 PM
so 100mbs unmetered can use max 10TB?

So it is 100mbs shared unmetered right?

How about 1000mbs? How much BW can i expect to push? Is it shared?

kevworks
05-16-2008, 08:30 PM
Hi,

With 100mbps, you can transfer up to 10TB.

For the 100mbps port you can expect a 25mbps and burstable to 100mbps.

For the 1000mbps port you can expect a 50mbps and burstable to 1000mbps.

Of course you will need multiple threads/connections to achieve 1000mbps of speed.

Unless you happen to have another gigabit connection in the same city :)

Thanks,

The RAID 1 is a factory standard setting from Dell. We can convert it to 2, normal 500gb drives, or raid 0 (1TB of space). This will cost an additional $50.00, but if you order the 1000mbps package we will waive that cost!

I did a Speed Test and was impressed at getting 10.97M/S - I think did a traceroute and noticed where the box was hosted -- Alphared.

You'll have no trouble with Bandwidth from his upstream provider - they have gobs, specialize in high traffic sites and host a good number of the major file hosting sites. But, don't take my word for it, look at the speed test from Dreamhost to them (say what you want about Dreamhost, people, but their network throughput is plain incredible):

rockstar:~> wget can't link in messages -
--18:54:53-- http: his ip 64.72.120.14 slash 1gbit.zip
=> `1gbit.zip'
Connecting to 64.72.120.14:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 125,000,000 [application/zip]

100%[====================================================================================================================================================== =============>] 125,000,000 1.20M/s ETA 00:00

18:56:29 (1.25 MB/s) - `1gbit.zip' saved [125000000/125000000]

I have no affiliation, but am an Alphared customer and fan.

this xeon, if compared to quad core Q6600, which is better?

kevworks
05-16-2008, 10:59 PM
To be honest the q6000 are a bit better, but both are from the same family. Since you are not overclocking you should see the same performance really.

We do have q9300 cores available, but only in our Los Angeles Facilities. Also with different pricing.

kevworks
05-17-2008, 12:24 PM
Yes, Unfortunately we are out, but we still have plenty of servers left.

We only set aside X numbers of server @ 10mbs Y number of servers @ 100mbps and Z amount of servers @ 100mbps.

This is probably the last time you will see this type of pricing. Still plenty of servers to be configured @ 100mbps.

If you order today servers will be online tomorrow!

To speed up ordering, use this link: http://www.kevworks.net/whmcs/cart.php?a=add&pid=34

We use a prorated system, so you will be charged half of this month and the entire next month.

You said you sold out of 10mbs servers. And you only have 100mbs and 1000mbs server on hand?

where are 10mbs servers that you sold? How many did you sell(if you dont mind)? Cause it sounds like an advertising trick to me.

Cheaptraffic,

How is that a marketing trick? Maybe they set themselves with a certain amount of 10mbps servers to be sold and they all sold out.

kevworks
05-18-2008, 06:19 PM
Hi,

Clearly the deal is real but only to a certain extent. We set guidelines for this deal to only sell a certain amount of servers at 10mbps only.

We have a couple of 10mbps servers on hold for the people who requested us to hold on to it for us till Monday. So if those people do not follow up I will see what I can for you CheapTraffic.

So kev, can u update us on the status please. With solid numbers as to how many servers @ 10 mbps unmetered exist/remain ? and how many are on hold or maybe a waiting list kinda thing. But at those prices i can imagine selling them hot cakes, i would take 1 or 2 myself !

If i am not mistaken you are not burst reseller right ? (my vps with u seems to be from LA , not PA, are servers also located in same datacenter ?)

And just wondering say i got a vps from you now, and wanted to switch to the server, would the price be adjusted accordingly ?

kevworks
05-18-2008, 07:40 PM
The deal is pretty much gone unless by some miracle the last two on holds decide not to get them or decide to go with the 100mbps/100mbps configs. But I will keep everyone posted.

We only sell VPS Plans/Services out of our Los Angeles Data Center. We have dedicated server options and colocation options in our Los Angeles Data Center as well.

We will most likely be having a dual core special with 10mbps unmetered in Los Angeles perhaps next week. Nothing solid yet.

But these servers (posted in this thread) will be hosted out of Dallas, TX USA.

We can do some kind of pro rate and give you a bonus credit towards your server purchase! We always try to make all our customers happy.

hi, how much TB can be used on gig plan, and how much speed can be sustained for 2hr period

Krazy
05-19-2008, 10:37 AM
there is still cogent in the mix, not sure how much will go thru cogent in real world, it can be little today and can be more tomorrow, an area which can downgrade network to non premium,

kevworks
05-19-2008, 10:43 AM
Hi,

The 1000mbps plan, I am not sure. I personally have not seen one connection use all 1000mbps unless it was a LAN to LAN transfer.

But generally you can transfer at most 20TB on the 1000mbps package.

Cogent is a great provider, they have real connectivity in the world. But we use best routing so if it needs to go through Cogent it will go through Cogent. If it needs to go another path it will go through another path.

Thanks,

Krazy
05-19-2008, 10:51 AM
hi kev, i am sure if BGP is tuned properly cogent can add value, question is if your provider alphared likes to push major amount thru cogent then problem can arise, if not today / tomorrow when people use more than 75% of their allotment

i have seen very bad routing with cogent bandwidth , where 2x hops and at least 25% more latency compared to any other provider.

kevworks
05-19-2008, 10:55 AM
That is pretty difficult to say, all my traffic has gone through Level 3 to my Los Angeles Facility. I have both Level 3 and Cogent a both locations and its always gone through Level 3.

Thanks,

Krazy
05-19-2008, 11:01 AM
yeah thought so, do you have any custom plan for 30T / 40T transfer over gige,

kevworks
05-19-2008, 11:05 AM
Hi,

For that much data transfer I would suggest you purchase dedicated bandwidth. To guarantee you can achieve those transfer limits.

Depending on how much you buy I can quote you about 10/mbps and you would need about 300mbps to transfter 30TB. So about 3000/month.

Let me know if you got anymore questions,

Thanks,
