The PHP forum is a good addition - but i wondered why PHP was singled out - why not have an ASP forum also?

Or most likely because WHT is sponsoring PHP.net.

I think PHP.net sponsors WHT.... not 100% sure though. Or maybe its some friendly ad exchanging :)

Yes,
I agree with you. There should be an ASP forum also

Instead of having another forum for ASP, I think we should just have one forum for all programming...

ASP is too proprietary compared to PHP.

No need for an ASP forum.

A Traceroute to PHP.net shows that PHP.net is hosted by EV1/Rackshack, the owners of WHT..

Aside from that the only weird thing is that my traceroute is bouncing up and down the coast. Goes from

ATL -> VA -> Dallas -> Houston

Weird...

To make money? Why do you assume the hosting service of a free site is free?

Probably becuase php.net doesnt have its own forums, and instead of trying to create a new forum (becuase there is nothing worse than a forum with 2 members) they thought they could work out a nice deal.

If you really dont like the business decisions WHT makes there are other forums out there.
