Hello,
Hope some one can help me here!
I registered 3 domain names and hostings packages with a company about 3 years ago.
Since then I have moved all 3 of the domains onto my own servers without a problem.
The 3rd domain was moved about 1 year ago.
I now want to move the doman from my own servers to my newer servers and the company wont let me unless I pay $35.
Is he within his rights to just add on a fee like this?
Because of his rude tone in his emails and his lack of proper business ethics, i dont trust him to take my credit card details.
What are the next steps I should take to resolve this??
Many Thanks!!

It would help us to know who the domains are registered with and what the domains are.
Often when you purchase domains with a hosting package, you are bound under your agreement to pay a fee should you decide to transfer away. One of the reasons that we always recommend you purchase your domain separate from your web hosting is so that you always have full and complete control over your domain names.
If you purchased web hosting that also included "free" domain names, then I would say yes, this guys is completely within his rights to ask you to pay a fee to move away from him.
What did the TOS say when you signed up with him? What does it say now?

Hello
The company is www.fidpac.com, i dont want to give out my clients domain but if u want it PM me.
I did buy the domains with hostingpackages from him, but i moved the 3 domains to my own servers a long time ago.
I was able to transfer 2 of the domains to other registration companies last year, but now with this one wants a fee.
The fee wasnt there last year. Can he just create an extra fee and not tell anybody?
He has also quoted his TOC's and gave me a link to www.fidpac.com/aup.html . I know for a fact that this web site was not live then.
Thanks

Find out who your registrar resells for and talk with that company. You can find that out by looking up the domain is a good whois program - the source registrar will be listed as the source of the data. For CNO domains, just use www.internic.net.
Once you know who he sells for, contact that company and ask them about their policy here. Tell they you did not agree to this domain lock and you want it removed. When they remove it, transfer your domain away.

Did they charge you earlier also for transfer of domain to your server? If no, they should transfer this time also without any additional charges.

No...They didnt have this charge with the 2 other domains I transfered from them a while back!
This is a new fee that they have just added since then.
Thanks!

OpenSRS (Tucows) allow their resellers to put locks on a domain, but ONLY when the person/company that the domain is registered to is in agreement with the lock. Mail the compliance officer at opensrs on compliance@opensrs.org and inform them of the situation - they will give their reseller a couple of days to comply and remove the lock or the reseller will risk losing their reseller status and abilities.
The all important doc can be found here....

Read the section....2. Domain Locking Policy - IMPORTANT
