ok. I want to start my own webhosting company for several reasons. i want to build some sites that require flash media server. and instead of paying 200 - 900 dollars a month for someone else to host my sites on a flash media server, i feel its going to be cheaper for me to buy my own server, install flash media on it and host my own sites. another thing i thought about was hosting sites for other people, not trying to compete with other companies, but just get more use out of my server that just for my own sites. Is there anyone here who can help me? i need to know what i am going to need to get this started cause i have some experience building websites, but none with acctually hosting one. I am a very quick learner, i already have a cpl ppl wanting to come on board with me. some with programing and networking experience, and another with web developing experince. Any sujestions??

Hi,
I suggest that you get a Managed Server or VPS, or hire a Management Company to Manage the servers or help you setup the server. Check the Offers Section. Good Luck!

If you have little or no server administration experience I would recommend a fully managed dedicated host.
Search the Dedicated Hosting Offers (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36) forum. Make a list of web hosts you're interested in. Search Google and here (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php) for reviews. If you select a web host which is unmanaged (such as ThePlanet.com or SoftLayer.com) then hire a server management company such as PlatinumServerManagement.com or TouchSupport.com
If you want to resell web hosting (to help pay for the server or better utilize it) you'll also need software for billing and support tickets. See if your web host offers WHMCS or ClientExec at a discounted rate.

If you don't really want to be a host, I'd not bother with hosting. It'll take time and resources that you'd better use for the main thing you're after, especially given that you've no experience in the hosting field.
There's always the option of a VPS if all you're trying to do is minimize your costs.

Hosting your own, yeah like that would last? jk
You can always find a quality provider in VPS or Dedicated for under $100. Dedicated servers wouldn't be the greatest, but yeah.
