What type of hosting we should get for the cheat code database? Should I go with dedicated server or should I buy reseller hosting?

Well it really depends of a variety of factors, how many visitors will your website attracts? How much are you willing to invest? These are all questions you should take a look at. :rolleyes:



How huge is your database?

First off if its a cheat site, you need to make sure it doesn't go against your host terms of use, i know if you host files for cheats a lot of them are warez.

I'd start out with a reseller and then move up because if your starting out you don't want a full box to your self, make sure you get shell with your account that way you can setup a nice stats for like servers and what not!

If you do decide to get a server i'd get cPanel based that way you can also run your own game servers using the cPanel addon for game servers! (slows down your service but hey get a good enough server and its worth it)

To start I would go with a regular shared account but besure there is an upgrade path so you can expand as needed.

Yea, i'd reccommend a normal shared account untill you actually get popular, then think about moving up the chain to resellers, vps's and dedis. But just make sure your abiding by the TOS of the cmopany, if you're unsure just ask them :)
