Is anyone using BANS? Can this work? Can this concept be profitable?

Assuming you have what it takes to negotiate with suppliers and bring value to the customer I don't see why it couldn't work.

Suppliers? do you know what bans is?

I threw a couple of sites up and for a while [it] was making around $20 per day because it was ranking #2 for ipod touch on msn. now its not even on the first page but still making $30 per month.
