Could someone tell me their experiences with them?
They seem very reliable, but I'm still doubting on getting host there.

It is very refreshing to have someone in WHT as professional as yourself respond in such as way. I really appreciate it. PS: Coming Up In 3 Days & Counting <---- I'm waiting to be one the webhostingforums.net's addict people over there. Wish you all the bests my friend. N9ne 10-19-2002, 12:05 PM I am a client of hostmatix.com, I can tell you of some of my experiences...I just did a search on the forum for hostmatix, this thread came up, I'm in a posting mood today: my sites: sdsym.com, sdsym.net [both hosted with hostmatix, reseller plan]. Their support: support tickets: all 5 of mine so far have been answered in less than 4 hours. Instant messengers: I usually get a reply within 10 minutes. Their chat on their site: Most of the time, I get a rep as soon as I go in, sometimes I have to wait 5-10 minutes. On the whole: their support is helpful and always there, 24/7! Service: Nothing wrong with their servers, they have fast speeds, etc. Packages: Can't really ask for more :) Uptime: A few weeks ago, on the server I'm on, some clients were running server intensive scripts but were using a low end package and this brought the server down. It was down for a good few hours everyday for three days, while they removed the clients and put them on a different server, and then fixed up the server I was on and all was ok after that and since then I've only experienced 10 minutes downtime, which was because of their provider's connectivity problem. On the whole: At first, it was a rough ride, but their support team sorted it all out for me, and everything is really good now, but it depended on my patience, I decided to stay with the server during its downtime as I'd changed server too much and it was getting tedious, and after it was sorted, it turned out to be a reliable host :) Personally, I recommend them, they are a well established host, and have a good all round service and support team. That's just my two cents on my experiences with HostMatix.com :), I hope this post is a help to some people. Layer3 10-30-2002, 12:17 AM Ok I am a new Hostmatix customer as well. I have been with them for about 3 weeks now. Here is what I think. Scale of 1-10 Customer Service I would give a solid 9. They respond to IM's very quick. I have opened up 2 tickets with them and they have been answered within an hour. They always kept me informed about the status of my ticket. Hardware I would give a 7-8. I do not run any sort of database or script intensive applications. I have noticed that the server from time to time is a bit on the slow side but I would say about 90% of time its rock solid fast Network I would give 6 3 weeks ago and now I give a 8 In the beginning I was having 4 days straight at around 9pm EST I would not be able to connect to my site. They block all ping's so you can't ping the server to find out if the server is up or not. After talking with them on AIM they said they were having problems with there provider and they hoped it would be fixed in the next few days. For about 2 weeks now its been pretty solid. No major downtime at all. The network is blazing fast. I stream video's from one of my customers sites and on my dsl at home and at work and from friends dsl's and cable modems located across the country I am seeing always a consistent 200kbytes per second. There plans I would give a 10!. Great deals. you just can't beat it. Just giving a heads up! Eric Knogle 10-30-2002, 12:24 AM Nice to hear you all doing so good :) Well done HostMatix. ChrisTech 11-08-2002, 04:45 PM If you use hostmatix, hope you dont have any problems. Because if you do, please be prepared to wait anywhere between a few hours, up to a week plus for a repsonse or fix. Also they are very adept in closing your support ticket (calling it resolved) when its no where near being fixed. My bandwidth meter on my website has not worked since oct. 25th. But then again they stated in a reply to me "we are working closely with this problem, thank you very much for letting us know. Please dont worry even if you really have extra traffic. " So I guess I am allowed to go over in bw??? Andrew 11-08-2002, 04:57 PM Originally posted by Vamp22 If you use hostmatix, hope you dont have any problems. But then again they stated in a reply to me "we are working closely with this problem, thank you very much for letting us know. Please dont worry even if you really have extra traffic. " So I guess I am allowed to go over in bw??? That is a bug in cpanel (closed source software that hostmatix cannot edit). There is a fix for it that they can do, but sometimes it still does not work. Hardly warrants a negative post on WHT. ChrisTech 11-08-2002, 05:29 PM That is just one of the several problems I have had with them. If that is the issue, why can they not just tell me that? And possibly let me know an alternate way to meter the bandwidth on my website? Is more people having this same issue? To me it seems like a big one. And won't the makers of cpanel, release a fix for this bug? Vamp P.S. Ahh, after 4 hours my forums are back up. Even after they said its on my end and I posted documentation showing it was on theirs. I guess its another magic trick (being no one's fault). I thought hostmatix was going to be a good host, but waiting for them to answer support tickets is just baloney. Andrew 11-08-2002, 05:34 PM The fix for it is to run /scripts/fixquotas There could be something else wrong that's causing it to still not work. Try asking them to do that. About the other stuff, I don't know... N9ne 11-08-2002, 07:57 PM I'm still with hostmatix, and yes there is a bandwidth counter problem in CPANEL. I had this problem at previous hosts aswell... Tropical Tundra 11-09-2002, 12:07 AM I don't think Vamp's post was unwarranted. If Hostmatix or any other host uses Cpanel and they have bugs that need to be fixed they better fix it. As a customer I would expect everything to work. Any problems is between Cpanel and host they should just fix it or let it slide if a customer exceeds his/her BW since the meter function didn't work. It does appear Hostmatix is doing this. This isn't a slam on hostmaix since most of the post about them are very positve just wanted to note that Cpanel bugs are not the customers issue. Fix the bugs or let the BW slide. ChrisTech 11-09-2002, 12:30 AM I havent had this problem with any host so far. It just aggravating that I cannot see how much my site is using up. I do have downloads on my site, and would like to know how much bw I am actually using. But I guess since they stated not to worry if it goes over, I shouldn't have to worry about it. Because if I have no way to see how much bw my site is using, I shouldn't have to pay any over bw fees. I have the ticket in which they stated that printed out, and the email saved in case they should stir anything up about it. There has to be ways around the problem, or another bw meter program out there. Vamp pweb 11-14-2002, 05:59 PM DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM!
