Anybody know how often the domain reports, ie. the report that tells you much diskspace and transfer you've used, gets rotated? And who rotates them?

I swear they were rotating themselves and then they just stopped.

Well, as you probably know you can select monthly, weekly or never. So if you select monthly it gets rotated the first day of the next month.

The access and error logs rotate fine, but the domains report, ie. diskspace and bandwidth used, is just carrying on...

Weird, since the bandwidth figure is actually taken from the access_log. Execute /usr/local/plesk/admin/utils/./statistics and check again.

Here's another funny problem:

What file extensions does Plesk not record?

On Friday, one of my servers started pulling in 6mbps continuously for 24 hours and then on Saturday it jumped to 9mbps, so I believe.

We couldn't figure it out as none of the domain reports showed that any clients had exceeded their limits.

After turning the domains off one-bye-one, the techs eventually found the culprit.

They had alot of mp3s and zips.

What worries me is that alot of domain owners have zips for download (not just my servers, I'm talking in general) and if Plesk isn't recording it, who knows, you might have a client using 1 to 2 mbps a month without you knowing and then you sit with the bill?

Well, as said before, the reports take their figures from the access_log which only logs the access to the file. If you downloaded it to your harddisk afterwards, it won't count numbers anymore.

My bad! They are rotating

BUT

certain file extensions are still getting past un-recorded.

What do you mean by un-recorded? Please see message above for reasons

Un-recorded: traffic by certain files is not monitored.

Well, mail and ftp traffic is anyway not "monitored" by the domain report, that's correct. Check your access_log to see how the figures are calculated.

You may wanna have a look at MRTG for bandwidth/traffic monitoring.

Umm... I'm referring to files downloaded over the web.

Either .zip or .mp3 is not monitored by apache, I just don't know which one.
