View Full Version : I am very concerned about Gazzin!
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 08:08 AM I have used Gazzin for a couple of years to provide my reseller account.
I have been down all night and had to pause all of my pay per click ad campaigns.
All of my business sites have been down all night along with over 100 personal and customer domains!
I am freaking out right now. They say they are migrating to another data center due to power issues and that I should be up in an hour or so. They have been saying this all night.
Is anybody else with Gazzin having the same down time issues?
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 09:35 AM I am still down!
fuego 04-28-2008, 09:56 AM thanks for sharing your experience, I was thinking on trying with them
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 10:00 AM They are been OK, but the outage I am experiencing right now is unacceptable at all levels!
I am getting the run around right now. They have only two of my domains up. Something is not right. This is very unusual for them.
I am getting creamed by my customers, plus I am losing business from my other sites.
This problem better be resolved very fast or I may have to make a move somewhere else. I have literally been down since around 10pm Sunday!
PremiumHost 04-28-2008, 10:01 AM ihostking.com is up and running.
What is the website that you experience downtime?
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 10:03 AM All of the customer domains that are under ihostking.com. ihostking.com is a reseller account.
All of the customer domain emails are down too!
steven99 04-28-2008, 02:19 PM All of the customer domains that are under ihostking.com. ihostking.com is a reseller account.
All of the customer domain emails are down too!Which domains though? If you don't want to post them, send one or so to the mods to validate you're hosting with them.
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 04:54 PM one of the domains is http://accidentandlawyer.com/
There are over a hundred!
Sorry to hear you've been having some major downtime issues. Doesn't Gazzin have a 800 number?
Perhaps over the phone might be able to put you on the priority support list?
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 05:12 PM Nope, no 800 number, only email, ticket system, and live chat.
I am still for the most part down for all of my domains. All of my email is down for certain domains.
It has never been this bad with them before. It almost seems like they do not understand what I am trying to tell them. It is very bizzare!
On chat I tell them about a certain domain being down, they fix that one, they tell me to check back (all night long) then they tell me to open a ticket if I have anymore problems. I have already opened two tickets.
Anyway I will keep you all updated. If they do not fix all of my issues real soon, I will have to go with another host.
steven99 04-28-2008, 05:13 PM Strange, the server pings, responds to SMTP, but doesn't respond to httpd. It's like apache is either not listening on that IP or is just plain dead. Would be interesting to see a ps aux to see if httpd is running at all. Do you have SSH access?
PH-Kev 04-28-2008, 05:22 PM well... seems apache is rejecting connections and cutting them off cold
tut tut
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 05:24 PM not until they bring a paticular domain back up!
iHostKing 04-28-2008, 06:04 PM It looks like they are having to bring each domain up one at a time! Most email service is still down.
I am losing a lot of money right now this is awful! If this is not fixed very soon I may have to leave them after over 2 years.
mad donkey 04-28-2008, 07:46 PM well I had issue too yesterday but now back ok i got an email from them telling me they are moving : here it is:
We are having an emergency migration to a new facility within the next few days. Downtime can average from 30 minutes to one hour depending on the issues that may occur. This migration is due to power issues that we have been experiencing within the last few weeks. The building is unable to accommodate our growth that we have out grown their facility. Therefore, n order to maintain stability and uptime we have decided to have an emergency migration in order to give all our customers the quality of service they deserve.
so just wait and see
steven99 04-29-2008, 12:36 AM It looks like they are having to bring each domain up one at a time! Most email service is still down.
Did they say that or just what the pattern shows? Have they explained why? If not, I'd start moving your most important sites (the money makers) to another host... I rarely recommend that, but after 24 hours+ of downtime without a why, what else can I say? Communication is very important, especially when downtime is concerned.
iHostKing 04-29-2008, 12:37 AM I got the same email and was totally down when i got the email, and since i got that email. It is now almost 24 hours and all of my business email is down, they have only restored a few domains with more than 100 still down. The support people keep changing their story. I am told wait 2 hours and you will be up, and everything is working, i keep telling them it is not.
I am a reseller they may have my reseller domain up but over 100 customer domains are down.
Meanwhile my customers are all about to jump ship.
This is a mega disaster. I have lost all patience at this point. I am not willing to wait much longer. I am basically out of business, not to mention my other business websites and email that I host are down as well.
This is horrible.
Does anyone know of any good alternative web hosting resellers?

They sent out an email which stated they are moving due to power problems, etc., and that we would experience intermittent outages of up to an hour for in the next few days. I have been pretty much down ever since I got the email!
I have 5 open trouble tickets which still remain open. I am trying to deal with them through live chat, but I am not really getting what I want which is a resolution.
You may be right, I may have to move my main business sites off of Gazzin to another host tonight. I will give them a little bit more time.
I have a WHM install, a few php sites that use sql such as directories and blogs which may be very difficult to migrate. Thsi is a nighmare.
mad donkey 04-29-2008, 12:45 AM Now i am down too and God knows when i will be back... i have emailed them again but no answer the forum they have none active or full of spammers..I think i will be moving some of the sites to another server this is unaccaptable.

I have an account with Hostnine and another one with KnownHost and very happy with them ...I would recommend both of them
iHostKing 04-29-2008, 01:11 AM I will look at the other providers you mentioned. Why did you go with Gazzin if you like hostnine if you dont mind me asking.
mad donkey 04-29-2008, 01:19 AM I will look at the other providers you mentioned. Why did you go with Gazzin if you like hostnine if you dont mind me asking.
my good clients i host them with those 2 hosts( hostnine and knownhost as for Gazzin I only have some smaller sites .(another provider is Resellerzoom.com only the failover plan is good
iHostKing 04-29-2008, 01:27 AM Hostnine looks good in that they will do migrations they say. I have some php installs that I will probably need help with. I will tell you I am pissed off right now.
I have been trying to talk to the guy on the live sales chat thing on their website, they say hello and then do not respond.
Like I said I have been with Gazzin for about 3 years. If I am not up very shortly, I will go with another hosting provider.
mad donkey 04-29-2008, 01:33 AM I think hostnine will give you 50% off too
if i were you just have another account (if you can afford it) with another reliable host- just in case - and move your good clients to them.
Good luck
iHostKing 04-29-2008, 01:45 AM I can afford it. My issue is that I have so many clients that it is going to be a nightmare to migrate them and notify everyone. Plus I use WHM Autopilot. How am I going to migrate that and not lose all of the subscription information!
This thing that Gazzin has done is inexcusable in the business world.
The least they could do is give a customer like me who has stuck by them for 3 years, the courtesy of straight answers. It is almost like they sold to another company of something.
This whole thing is ridiculous! If they would just respond to me and/or get me up, I will let this pass. I will get another account either way as back up, but I will stay with them.
They used to monitor this forum but I guess they are not here!

this is my point here i am waiting for the answer too. the forum is a joke..I can understand they are having issues but we have to be informed.. I am waiting like u now to access the server.
talk to those hostes i told you about and see what they can do for you maybe they will help you migrate easly..also check innohosting.com i have never been with them but i hear all good things about them
mad donkey 04-29-2008, 11:57 AM just an update now it is day 2 and no answers from Gazzin we are left in the dark...we can't access the server at all so we can move out of it.. this is crazy
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 12:32 PM Hi
I to am with Gazzin and I have not had my site working since
22 Apr 2008 02:03 AM with a error on a new SSL and now my site is up but as Gazzin have changed my IP now WHM/CP and all my site and my client's site's are still down and from past eperience, for them to get the License updated it will be 24 to 72 hours before it will be up and then my SSL still needs to be sorted out?
I wish mine was only 2 days.

one thing to have the site down becouse of Server Migration but not to get news about the progress and ip change is not acceptable

simon
I got a VPS I had to shut my phone off because i don't know what to answer my clients this is crazy
where is clanosiris he is usually here at least he can give us an update.
the forum in Gazzin is a joke
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 12:58 PM Hi
Tell me about it
simon
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 12:59 PM are you on VPS or Shard with them?
Simon
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 01:07 PM And I can not get on to the server so I can not move?
The hard thing also for me I was just doing a B/up when it went down so it also is still on the server, so I should be able to get this in 3 days
sw4746 04-29-2008, 01:09 PM It's very unacceptable for gazzin to make our websites down for days. They say they are migrating, if it is such a large move they should have send us a message that they expect an outage, so we in turn keep our customers informed. I was with gazzin for 4 years and they were never a reliable web host, but at least they were truthful to say when things go wrong. I think this may be my last experience with them. I hope Gazzin is not going OOB :(
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 01:15 PM I hope Gazzin is not going OOB :(
Now there to big for that.
mad donkey 04-29-2008, 01:23 PM Now there to big for that.
no one is big or small for that..having a forum active for your clients to update them about the server is not a big of a task and they don't have that..so what kind of a big hosting is that?
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 01:36 PM Gazzin forum url http://www.gazzin.com/forum/index.php?
but thy have not updated it. but as i am on VPS and it is for the shared hosting most of the time

but thy have not updated it. but as i am on VPS and it is for the shared hosting most of the time
the forum full of spammers it is like deserted place anyone can come and post a link why don't they shut it down it is useless to have and give bad image about the company if you ask me.
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 02:00 PM I only look in Reseller Corner of it
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 02:27 PM Hi
I can ftp to server??
smarty-boots 04-29-2008, 03:05 PM Hi
Try sftp to root with FileZilla
rcrrich 04-29-2008, 03:25 PM No matter what you do, how hard you try, it can happen. I think they should have had severs up and running and set the dns so as to smoothly have a trans to new site.

I still have over 100 domains down! Email service has not been restored on my main business account or my customer accounts. I am actively looking for a new hosting provider.
I have gone through some pain with Gazzin in the past. This is unacceptable.
iHostKing 04-29-2008, 04:42 PM No matter what you do, how hard you try, it can happen. I think they should have had severs up and running and set the dns so as to smoothly have a trans to new site.
Don't you think?
I have learned a very expensive lesson here. I was a Data Comm. Engineer for over 18 years before switching careers. This is the worst I have seen!
sw4746 04-29-2008, 05:24 PM I have already decided to kiss good bye to them, this is un acceptable.
imvii 04-30-2008, 02:04 AM Looks like Gazzin lost another long term customer. My reseller account has been down now for 3 days. The sites are sort of up now but any of the cpanel administration is broken.
I submitted a ticket telling them the error, I got a reply the error was fixed. Guess what? Same error.
My last ditch effort was attempting a live chat to find out the status.
System: Please Wait while connecting to an operator
Welcome to Gazzin.com, Your speaking to - Admin
Admin: hello
imvii: Hello
imvii: What is going on over there?
imvii: 3 days now and service is still spotty
Admin: have you open the tickets
Admin: if yes the our senier admin will reply you
imvii: yes. They say the problem has been fixed.. but it isn't fixed
imvii: I never got a reply from yesterdays ticket either
imvii: I am about to transfer my server to another host tomorrow if we can't get this resolved
System: Operator has closed your chat
I guess that lets me know how much they value me as a customer.
Too bad, they've been a pretty good host for the last few years, but I have zero time for zero communication. If they just told me before hand about downtime AND be upfront with issues, I would have stayed with them. I understand problems happen. This however is not the proper way to treat clients.
Buh-bye gazzin.
rcrrich 04-30-2008, 08:34 AM It is sad and I sure they are crying about it too. From what I can see from your post sounds like they were trying to do something that they should have had alot more thought about.
KingTut 05-01-2008, 02:10 AM I have a number of sites that have been down since Monday. (now on day 4). No answer to trouble tickets in 4 days either.
Chat sessions leave me waiting for a trouble ticket that never happens ... or just wait 2,3,4-5 more hours and everything should be back up.
Guess what... still down after 4 days. I feel bad for resellers with 100s of clients.
rcrrich 05-01-2008, 09:37 AM I feel bad for everyone that finds themself in this. It is bad for the host as well as the customer.
minddynamix 05-01-2008, 12:30 PM I too have been wiht Gazzin for 3 years. It's been a constant struggle. It is absolutely the worst hosting company around. 3 Years ago they were very affordable, no there are companies offering more and definitely more security.
My sites have been down for days. Some are up now, but too many are still down. Unacceptable and unheard of in the industry. I can only advice for EVERYONE to bite the bullet and MOVE!
I found a company who answered to all my criteria, like US based 24/7 live customer support, 100% uptime (yes, that is possible), and they transfer all my websites for me. I don't have to setup the sites, at least the ones that are online right now.
I felt it was not fair to my customers to have their sites down. It is my responsibility to have their sites up, so I have to do whatever it takes.
I still have to manually install all the sites that are still down (no ftp access), but I gladly do it to get rid of this Gazzin nightmare.
They do not answer emails, do not answer their phones (voice message), and actually delete the tickets you write.
The one response I did receive from a level 3 tech was that everything worked just fine. There were no problems.
There have been many problems over the years and security is terrible there... It barely exists!
So people, be smart... move to another hosting company. It's not worth the headache when there are so many better options than Gazzin.
You just can't afford to 'wait and see'. It's your business, it will cost you your good name, and money.
webwatch 05-01-2008, 12:31 PM I too am having terrible issues with Gazzin!
For the past 2 days I have 1 site innaccessible after all sites went down for a while, definitely a DNS issue at their end.
My tickets are also unanswered - definitely time to move away from this bad joke of a host.
KingTut 05-01-2008, 02:03 PM Now on DAY 4 of no website access.
HELM just came online for me, but websites and FTP are still not working.
geekygirl 05-01-2008, 04:09 PM I'm glad its not just me having issues. My sites are up, but e-mail forwarding isn't working. I'm getting no replies from support.
I have been with Gazzin for 3 years, and honestly never had problems. I am NOT a heavy user, though. I just host a hand full of personal domains with them. I am in no way defending them. I am very angry with their lack of response, so I'm here shopping for hosts.
Good Luck in the search, guys.
ldcdc 05-01-2008, 10:27 PM Unacceptable and unheard of in the industryUnacceptable? Yes. Unheard of? Sadly no, which is why every customer considering leaving, should not go with the first host that crosses their path.
As for the rest, let's just hope the Gazzin will manage to bring things to their former state sooner rather than later. Migrations can turn into a real headache, even when preparation is extensive and thorough.
clanosiris 05-01-2008, 10:33 PM We have been extremely busy with the emergency migration. Please note it was unplanned which caused such havoc. Please also note the "emergency" part of the migration.
Our growth from our previous provider has exceeded their capacity which they can no longer support nor willing to get us the support we require. This includes the remote hands as well as the power that is needed. There were random reboots , and power spikes that happen for 1-2 weeks even after we shifted servers out.
It came to the point where the owners of the facility can no longer work with us where we had to find a place within a few days.
As of now all machines has been physically migrated. We do apologize for any inconvenience but instead of giving up like most hosts would. We bit the bullet and acquire a facility, bandwidth within only a small turn around time. This was really unexepected where both the parties involved and Gazzin.com had a great deal of crisis.
If there are queries that still needs to be attended please feel free to let us know either by email or CHAT.
If anyone would like to know what facility I'll be glad to tell you so everyone can avoid that same mistake!
We are currently connected to multiple fibers and over 400 peers! We believe that this new facility will allow us to grow and allow all our clients to receive the faster network.
Again apologies for any of those involved , after 6+ years of business we have been growing strong and this was a disaster that will be avoided in the future.
iHostKing 05-02-2008, 03:55 AM I am back up. I was starting to take my customers off of Gazzin when you got me back up. I am going to split some of my customers off for now just in case. I got a reseller account with Hostnine. For me it is better just in case to have a redundancy plan.
This outage was horrible to me and my clients. I cannot know how much money we all lost because our business sites were down. I am not talking just web hosting reseller, I am taking primary business sites! I am sure Gazzin took a huge hit here too. But you did get us back up.
I hope none of us ever have to go through a nightmare such as this again!
geekygirl 05-02-2008, 12:10 PM I am also back up. My back e-mails are even trickling in.
Even though we were warned this was happening, some updates would have gone a long way with me.
iHostKing 05-02-2008, 04:56 PM I was not warned. I got the email and discovered I was already down. The warning said we could expect outages up to 1 hour in the next few days, not a 3 day outage!
Anyway, we are back up now.
geekygirl 05-02-2008, 05:10 PM I agree. I was also expecting an outage of around an hour, not loss of e-mail for days. By using "we" I was referring to my family. I did not mean to imply that you received any warning. I should have used better phrasing.
@iHostKing Are you able to access your cpanel? I'm currently receiving an error. Just curious.
iHostKing 05-02-2008, 05:17 PM Understand.
I am able to get into WHM on my master account, and all cpanels for hosted domains from there.
I am also able to get into cpanel directly for my master account.
I would try the lives sales chat if you are still having the problem. It may be a quick fix that they can do.
geekygirl 05-02-2008, 05:35 PM They were able to get me back into cpanel over chat. The RVskin is still not working, but at least I'm in. Thanks for replying so fast, iHost. It was good to be able to see if I was unique or if we were all in the same boat.
webwatch 05-03-2008, 04:17 AM Everything worked yesterday (Friday) this morning I find the whole lot has gone again :-(
chamelion 05-03-2008, 12:01 PM how about a vote. could this have been handled any worse? they basically disappeared, my sites have been down for what, a week? they're not rpelying to supprot tickets. they credited me a month of free hosting but its not really free if they're not freakin' hosting me for the entire month.
worst.company.ever.
clanosiris 05-03-2008, 05:37 PM Hi chamelion,
Almost all sites are online and one of the windows server have issues.
If you can get us the ticket ID I'll have that online ASAP.
