I am curious to hear from other web hosts on there thoughts of Alabanza. Basically with the poor Customer Service they provide now, there very unacceptable downtime, and there ridiculous prices increases. For those web hosts who were with Alabanza before Nov 2000, should know what I am talking about.

We use to lease servers from them for $800/mo, and then after Nov 2000, with there price increases, we now pay $895/mo plus $1 per Control Panel, (max of 500 accounts per server, so pretty much a $1395.00/mo server.) and an endless list of hidden charges.

We have switched uplines to were we receive a much better server, for $400/mo, and we created our own Control Panel and "cheated" the system to the point where we transferred the domains, with only 5 minutes downtime. All the same features that where available on Alabanzas Control Panel, but this Control Panel is fully developed by us. So I would like to hear if any others have done anything to break away from Alabanza.

I look forward to hearing your opinions.

Do you have a demo of your control panel?

We do not have a demo yet. We will wait until we are finished with v2.0, as this will have more features added to it.

We are an Alabanza reseller, http://www.oneononeinternet.com. We signed up with them about 5 months ago when they were doing a $400/monthe per server special and have been very dissatified with them. The $1.00 per Control Panel charge is ridiclous, as is their tech support. We wait for days to get a canned response from them. Anyway, nothing you haven't experienced yourself.

Needless to say, we are very interested in breaking away from Alabanza. Who did you switch to? And can we see your Control Panel?

Hi Marq, you might want to take a look at http://www.hostcoalition.org . They have forums that are specifically geared towards hosts, and have a lot of people using Alabanza that participate on the board.
