Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a RackShack server with WHM/Cpanel? I don't see it in their price list, but I know Nocster offers it for a small fee ($19.95 dollar p/m). If RackShack doesn't offer it, how much would I pay for this? And where can I find WHM direct sellers of resellers?

I don't think its possible since they control all of the liscences. I could be mistaken though. There is talk about Cpanel being offered though in the official RS forums.

Or is it the same found on the Cpanel.net site?

If you get a plain RH box at RackShack, there is nothing to stop you installing Cpanel on it, but you'd have to get an external license as I don't believe RackShack offer them...
Check out http://www.effectonline.com for Cpanel licenses.

I am not sure if this is relevant but Cpanel is offering a one-time fee for a Cpanel license (no monthly) for $1400 which comes with 1 yr support + 2 yrs upgrades at http://www.cpanel.net/dist.htm
In the long run, it does seems cheaper than getting a Cpanel license from effectonline.com .

i have a rackshack server with CpanelWHM installed!
The rackshack server (cheapest) costs $99/month (excluding setup fees)
The Cpanel/WHM liscense is $75/month (cheapest). (I say $75/month because that is what the liscenses lowest price can be; by law.... Cpanl company makes the distributors advertise their Cpanel liscenses or $99/month..... but, if you contact the distributor personally, I am sure they will hook you up.... they did for me).
NOTE: Cpanel is the control panel used for website design..... WHM (Webhost Manager) is the server control panel; WHM lets you do change diferent settings on the server to meet your company needs.... i.e. Install Mysql, Reboot Apache, etc.
For the time being, Rackshack only offers their servers with Ensim or Plesk installed... you have to install Cpanel yourself, or have the distributor install it for you.
Just a little FYI on what I have learned within the last 6 months.
Hope this helps kill the rumors!! :D

I am aware that there is a program that edits html, however that is not cPanel's primary use. Its used to manage the users account, i.e. email, sub domains, ftp, web stats, etc. Web design is just one of the many capabilities of the program, but I would not call it a primary part of it.
I have a box at rackshack with cPanel on it. Just get a plain redhat server at get an external liscence and install it yourself.

Is Ensim or Plesk also capable of efficient handling of customers, or is WHM/Cpanel the best you can (and should) get?

I have never worked with ensim or plesk... but... I have a ensim liscense... I tryed getting it installed on my rackshack server.... it didnt work, it screwed up my apache settings and everything....
I have researched these newsgroups and found cpanel to be the best.... I only want and accept the best for my customers...

Ensim requires a fairly clean server to be installed. Since, it uses a modified version of Apache among other things.
