Any info (good or bad) on Edge-Host? I've only been able to find a few good comments, not enough to make up my mind though.

They advertise 72000RPM?? Wow I didn't know we have faster HD than we do car engines.

Thats a turn off right there, don't know their hardware.

I'd want to know what kind of a connection you get with 600GB transfer. And kind and speed of network card.

hmm AMD XP? don't need XP compatibility on a server hehe.

Don't know about support, can't comment on that. Altough says they used to be a design company.

7200RPM is what is advertised on our site.. not sure where you are getting your info from? And if you did see that some where it would obviously be a typo.

You are on COGENT w/level3 Backup.

Yes AMDXP it is a type of processor, I am not sure what you mean XP compatibility on a server? This does not mean it runs windows XP if that is what you think.

We didn't "used" be a design company, we still are. Edge-host is a branch of Graphical Edge Media.

Hope that clears up your problems.

blazin' fast from my server in the netherlands:
01:30:38 (515.61 KB/s) - »1MB.zip« gespeichert [1000000/1000000]
and a bit slower from my home connection (which has 92kb/s max.):
01:13:47 (68.27 KB/s) - `1MB.zip' saved [1000000/1000000]

BiGWill, I am from germany, have as well a very nice download speed at about 60kb/sec (t-online dsl flat).

phpcoder, are you sure, that that file is also on your cogent connection? I usually get just up to 8-9kb/sec on the cogent link!

I have a box with them.. haven't had much time to play around with it yet though.

I ordered a box without any CP (i.e a clean install). They usually offer Ensim. The box didn't even have an ftpd or apache on it and the IP's werent added either. They did, however, offer to do a reinstall if I didn't manage to download & install the hundreds of packages that usually come with a default RH server install.

And the APC reboot advertised was not available.. they had run out and are expecting new ones in a week or less.

Speed-wise, they're definitely acceptable for being Cogent. :D
Support via instant messanging software has been so-so, but I haven't tried their helpdesk yet so I can't say for sure anything about support. They're quite friendly though even if they do disappear in the middle of conversations :D

So far so good tho

That is not true, I told you to do some research about servers since you were asking a million questions a minute and I was very busy. I also told you I could help you if you waited for a little bit.
