Well I won't go into details about the site as it is still being worked on :) but I was wondering if any members know of a good service to use for processing payments in Germany.

I'm familiar with the credit/debit system in the US but was curious what service would be good to use for German customers.

I would be processing payments under 50€, and more than likely under 35€ but could perhaps be in the 50-100 range if multiple orders are processed by the same customer. I also have not fully decided if I will use USD or Euros yet, so if there is a service that processes both than that would be good.

If this is under the wrong heading to post this thread please move it mods as I am a noob to this site and the forum format.

If you're selling to a German market put it in Euros...if amazon.co.uk started charging me in $$$ I'd tell them to stick it and go elsewhere. Also, if you're processing cards some companies charge a fee for exchanging the money.

Why not use paypal?

Well I thought about PayPal but I don't think they do the bank transfers and may not accept certain cards, Maestro, DB...?

They are cheap and efficient though, good rep and reliable. They do accept payments in Euros too. With the USD so weak, I would prefer payment in Euros.

I think this could be better discussed in the Ecommerce area on the forum. I have informed the mods. might help serve better opinions for you.

PayPal accept all localised debit cards in the UK including Maestro, they may also do it in Germany; have you contacted them to make sure?
