I need help, im already running a busniess.
I have my own travel agency, im pretty big local, but im ready to expand and take orders from other cities in Sweden.

But I havent registerd at any search engines, you may think im a idiot because of that. But the truth is I didnt have the capacity to grow that fast. Ive grown several hundred procent each month.
And there is much work to do by yourself.

Support, taking orders, change customers traveldate etc.
However I have ppl working for me now and im ready to GROW! :)

So i figured if someone would know, you guys would.
Whats the smartest way to register on the search engines, what should i think about, so when ppl search they will find me! :)

Anyway to cheat to get on the top? :P

Really these days you don't have to register at all. As long as there are a couple of other sites linking to you, you will be found. If you want to ensure it, submit to the Open Directory at dmoz.org.

Once you are there, since most search engines use that directory to seed their spiders, you'll show up everwhere. Of course...[Anyway to cheat to get on the top?Well, yeah, there are those ways. But you'd end up getting caught, so it's not worth it! :)

But you're right that simply getting into search engines isn't enough... your site needs to be optimized for good placement. At the most basic level that means only two things: a good amount of content (text), and a good number of incoming links. Fortunately, A leads to B: if you have good content, people will link to you.

The advanced step, then, is to refine your content to focus on useful and effective keywords, and to work on specific elements of content: heading tags, alt tags, page titles, etc., with the same goal.

There's one legitimate shortcut: pay for placement at PPC engines. Short of that, it just takes a lot of hard work!

There are two places worth looking at for a start:

www.overture.com
adwords.google.com

Both are bidding systems; the amount you are willing to pay for each click determines your positioning. Depending on what area of business you're in, they can either be reasonably priced, or very expensive. In the area of travel, you'll have to choose keywords pretty carefully to avoid paying a pretty high per-click rate.

Is there anyway to tell how much the top1 pays for the ads?

Just use proper keywords in your pages to get searched.
