Hi

Iīm hoping you can help me with some ideas on what system I should go for.

Iīm in need of a CMS, thatīs both easy to update for the users that need to(only content) and at the same time at least have a decent member/profile system. It will also need either a powerful forum, or have some bridge solutions with systems like phpbb3, smf, mybb etc.

I like joomla and drupal, since itīs very good for content, and the users should have no problem to update the content of site. But the site also needs a powerful membersystem, something that joomla lacks.

Then we have the more portaltype of systems that normally have a decent profilesystem. But they tend to lack the same powerful contentsystem as for example joomla and drupal and seem to be more focused on news/blog style content. The site is not in need of newssystems, but instead quite much content that will have to be easy to update for many users, even those that never heard the word HTML.

I know that you can extend joomla with, for example Community builder, but I donīt want to run old joomla 1.0.

So, do you have any ideas of something as good as joomla and drupal in the content apartment, but that can provide at least a usersystem with extended userfileds and different levels of access.

I can live with joomla 1.5 limited groupsystems(only need 3 accesslevels, public, registered and clubmember) but still need a more powerful profile.

Any ideas?

Have you checked out any of Joomla's extensions? Theres one called "Community Builder" which extends the user management system of joomla..I haven't tried it, but it seems to get good reviews

I use MKPortal most of the time.

Not sure it would suit you tho, it intergrates niceley with phpbb3 and most other forums :D

Check out ExpressionEngine.

http://expressionengine.com

Has a forum module available (a nice forum too), and a really good member system already in place that integrates great with the rest of the site.

An example of the forum:
