Hi everyone,

I was happy to see DownTownHost (http://www.downtownhost.com/) 's new face today when I stopped by their site.

Looks pretty cool, but the frames are a little big, so there are scrollbars all over which dont look so great :-\

What res is your monitor set at? I'm at 1024x768 which is fairly standard, and I have no problems with scroll bars.

I think the orange flash animation on the right side is a little too phallic for me. Anyone else notice? Any ladies in the house? ;)

I hadn't noticed it until the second visit - does look a little suggestive now that you mention it.

who owns downtownhost anyways maybe you may suggest they change it? just a though ;-)

Now that I started to watch it, it's certainly different.

Well... I can't say I felt it necessarily looked phallic. I do believe I seen an eagle and a stealth bomber though.

Huh? Since when did 1024x768 become standard. I think most people keep their screen resolution set at 800x600. Also, I believe most webmasters design for that resolution.

Ok, so I reverted to the horrid 800x600... I have a 17" monitor. And, still had no scroll bar problems, just the vertical one.

Interesting, UmBillyCord. I didn't notice anything ..uhm.. suggestive until you mentioned it. I wonder though, if one person noticed it, will others do too? I don't know. I know I didn't. Hehe.

The design is very nice. I was impressed.

I guess it was designed by the company who designed the
HostRocket.com. I don't exactly remember the company's name.

However I noticed that they made some other hosting web designs, which are all in same standard.... Flash on the top frame and etc. I believe they should come with some new ideas.

Just make sure you protect it from being nicked by putting a small image or something that you can show if they leech.

I really like pixelbrick as well PointOnWeb, I requested to the designer a misture into both styles.

Well done Catena ...but i have to say that site design seems to be inspired by pixelbrick...anyways it rocks..:D

I said that I requested that to the designer, a misture between Pixelbrick and PointOnWeb.
I really like both styles, and that's what I asked to the designer.

But saving someone's site on a hard drive doesn't always mean that they are going to steal it. Some people may just save it to look at the design more closely. Learn a few things from it. And will never steal the design.

Of course, there are times when they just modify a couple of things and use it as their own! :angry: But how can one tell if not until the stolen design is online? ...
