I am able to access my default website on my server using the ip adress i have assigned it. i have two name servers that i think are configured correctly.

my question is, if my modem is through comcast and they gave me 5 static ip's and provided two dns adresses, should my name servers be set to two of my uniqiue ip's or the dns adresses they gave me? ive tried both and havent had luck with either. the waiting game that comes along with 48 hours of changing it on the godaddy side of things isnt helping me.

Hmm, I'm not sure I follow you in regards to your ISP static IP's and DNS.
Usually, your ISP doesnt have much to do with your web hosting, unless of course you fall victim to the infamous port 25 block but that is related to the sending of mail.

If you can see your web site via the IP address assigned by your hosting company, but you cannot see it via the domain, then you need to change the nameservers at your registrar. (godaddy for example)
Your web hosting company can provide you with the nameservers you need to point to.

Hope this helps.

as long as the ips are pointing towards the nameservers you set at your domain registrar, it should work once you configure your dns settings on the server. is this linux based or windows?

Have you tried to ask people from other regions to look at your web site? I think that will help you to understand the problem better

You can try to ping your domain name from this website:

http://network-tools.com/

See if you can ping it by name, if so it will work for you in some hours.

its a windows server.

i tried to ping it by name on that site you suggested and i got "bad destination"

godaddy has two name servers registered for my account and its as simpe as ns1.mydomain.net and ns2.mydomain.net and both have ip's connected to them that i can type in a remote browser and they DO bring my home page up.
