View Full Version : choose yahoo or bluehost
goran2001 04-13-2008, 02:30 PM hello,
lately yahoo make advancements in their hosting plan, and i want to choose best of yahoo or bluehost. could anyone give me an opinion. thanks
hostmaxpro 04-13-2008, 03:47 PM Both oversell and have inconsistent reps, as far as i've been able to read. I would go with a smaller host, myself.
kemuel 04-13-2008, 03:49 PM Is this one of the better of two evils questions? I really can't make myself advise either.
Amy-T 04-13-2008, 03:49 PM Yahoo might not be a good because if Microsoft buys them out like they want to a lot of changes you may not like may happen.
amdcomms 04-13-2008, 04:13 PM Dont go with either of them , there are many better hosts out there ! Yahoo will soon crash when microsoft buys them
rrhodes 04-13-2008, 05:25 PM Ahhh the old no right answer question. I have to ask how did you come down to these 2 choices?
The answer is: RUN!!!!!!!!
Do some research and find a host that will deliver a quality product and good service. The only thing IMO you will get from your choices is a functional product with little to no support.
CrazyPenguin 04-13-2008, 11:38 PM I haven't tried Yahoo hosting so I cannot speak about their service.
I have used Bluehost. Please read my review about Bluehost (http://inetintegrity.com/weblog/?p=1).
And no I would not recommend Bluehost.
MMH-Moe 04-13-2008, 11:41 PM I would say between the 2 Bluehost has there stuff down good. They are a good cPanel host and I don't know what others are complaining about here.
hostdept-Gabrielle 04-13-2008, 11:49 PM Both oversell...
Agree :D Both of them have overselling offer. Why don't you try to have a look at other choices too ;) ?
CrazyPenguin 04-13-2008, 11:50 PM I would say between the 2 Bluehost has there stuff down good. They are a good cPanel host and I don't know what others are complaining about here.
If you have dealt with the totally pathetic service as I did in the post above you would know why people are "complaining" about Bluehost.
hostydotnet 04-14-2008, 12:08 AM yahoo is horrible for hosting. i have seen their stuff first hand and it is ugly. not to mention they are on the verge of going under....
john8 04-14-2008, 01:00 AM Why yahoo or bluehost? There are other better hosting plans (e.g. HostGator).
WireNine 04-14-2008, 02:51 AM hello,
lately yahoo make advancements in their hosting plan, and i want to choose best of yahoo or bluehost. could anyone give me an opinion. thanks
What are your requirements? Why have you limited yourself to these two web hosting companies when you have so many choices? Do you require huge amounts of disk space and bandwidth, would you like to be trapped in a 3 year contract?
jackbauers 04-14-2008, 04:21 AM Bluehost is very slow, I recommend you to use hostgator, it's really better.
HLwebhosting 04-14-2008, 07:14 AM I have heard both sides of the field regarding Bluehost and also Yahoo.
I must disagree with the hype regarding "if" scenarios of Microsoft aquiring Yahoo. If that happens, what business sense does it make to shut down a profitable venture like Yahoo's web hosting campaign?
From what I understand, Bluehost provides a great service.
inway 04-14-2008, 08:41 AM Yahoo will not be Microsoft in a whole night if Microsoft takes Yahoo. Yahoo and Bluehost have their own control panel which may not be user friendly. Yahoo do not have Live chat support :( which other hosting company provides.
Better select non-yahoo and non-bluehost!
jakeruston 04-24-2008, 03:34 PM i'd say Bluehost. Never go with a big big company - they're too popular for their own good.
jailbird2 04-24-2008, 04:40 PM If you want to host a site that is based on php or cgi script, never use yahoo, godaddy or similar hosting services.
Purchase yourself a decent cpanel hosting from some of the reputable linux/apache hosting providers...
