We're planning to migrate from our current install of MailEnable to Merak Mail Server 9.1.0, but is there a tool available for this migration? Merak POP3 Migration Tool 3.00 is really of no use, i'm looking for a tool which would completely copy messages to merak user's mailbox, provided merak users already exists with the same password.
Thankx
I did a migration to a Merak server a long while ago and I used the Merak POP3 migration tool and it did copy all messages from the original server to the new one. What it did was proxy a login to the merak mail server, if it failed, it tried it on the old server (impersonating the user) and then donwloading all their email via pop3 to the new merak account. after finished it would use the same password supplied by the user to create the account on the merak mail server and then the next time they logged in it would not need to go to the old server since it would authenticate on the new one (imap or pop3) and have all messages available.
This is how it worked a year or 2 ago when I migrated and I would assume still does this or at least a better process that still gets all the mail.

Thanks eger for the reply.
Now days, POP3 migration tool asks to enter user email address and password in a plain text file in this format...
EmailAddress:Password
When this file is ready, we can start Pop3Get.exe and enter old POP3 server address to fetch message.
the problem is, this migration tool copy all messages to for example following path...
C:\Merak\POP3Migration\mail\DomainName\EmailAddress
all files are *.tmp. Now, i don't know as the next point is not documented as where to move these files to be present in user's mailbox. I tried moving these files to user's mailbox... (C:\Merak\mail\domain\user\inbox) but it did not help.
Help me please!
That is strange. The message copying and user creation/user credentials were all automated in the tool I used. Times have changed and I am not sure how the new tool works (haven't used Merak in years).
I would ask their support about the migration tool that used to proxy the username/password to the old server and automatically download the messages to the new server just like a mail client. It did this at one point and there might be a way to configure the current version to act like this.
