How many of you would buy web space without tech support if the service was alot cheaper.

It all depends on what you get and how much you know. ex if you are experienced and get ssh access.

Still I don't think I would purchase from a company like that.

I think most hosts already provide that without lowering their fees

I would be extremely hesitant to sign-up for any service, not just web hosting, without receiving any medium of support.

However, it would still depend on HOW much cheaper it actually is. A couple of bucks would not give me any reason to sign-up.

Probably not even consider it.

There has to be some level of support especially when things do not work or does not appear to comply with the specifications.

Anything above and beyond that would be a luxury which I might be able to forgo but basic support is still needed.

No...

...simply because if something goes wrong that is not a client-side issue you are stuck.

As long as there is a bit of tech support for the bigger problems, and documentation for other problems.

Nope, even if you are a sys adm, you always need support for something.

Is this the latest money making scheme for the $0.99 per year hosts? *sigh*

To answer your question, whether you are a end user, reseller, dedicated server user or even a data center - you need some form of support :)

No tech support would work if your servers never had any problems with it.
