I have just bought a domain and webhosting from monkey wrencher.but i dont know how to design my website.its gonna be a discusion forum like this website

can anybody help me to build this sort of discusion forum .plz tell me from where i can get the template

there are free scripts like phpbb or some other ones that are all setup for you you just need to install them, if your host has fantastico then use it to find a good forum script.

That forum is using PHPBB, so if you sign up with a CPanel host that offers the Fantastico install you'll be up and running very quickly.

Take care to get the security settings right though.

Sure, I always install manually if I'm going to use the tool in production - I only use Fantastico to try things out.

I think though that the OP is inexperienced.

I also think that the new version of PHPBB can self update, but quite how that sits with Fantastico I don't know!

On reflection I think that medcruiser would be best off finding a friendly host who would install for him.

You seem to have installed a content management system (CMS).

You don't seem to have a forum at least not at ../forum

Do you need the CMS?

You are using a content management system.(phpWebSite) phpbb is a forum.


If the site is all you wanted it looks to be setup. You just need to log into the admin panel and set the site up to meet your needs. If a forum is what you wanted you need to install one.

All you have to do is to click a few clicks to install PHPBB3 either in forum.yourwebsite.com or yourwebsite.com/forum.

As for designing, you may want to get some ready made templates or skin. ;)

1) Login to cPanel - http://www.pakmed.org/cpanel

2) Click blue happy face Fantastico De Luxe, it may be towards the bottom.

3) Click phpBB underneath Discussion Boards

4) The rest should be self explanatory.

If you cannot find "Fantastico De Luxe" contact your support (http://www.monkeywrenchhosting.com/support.php) and ask them where/how do you access Fantastico?

The best would be asking their support team!. Its preety easy but they would do it for you if you are unable to handle certain things.
