Are you wanting to resell Vent and Teamspeak servers or just looking for someone to host it for you?

www.darkstarllc.com runs a tight ship and they have a "great" reseller panel to quote a couple of sources I have spoken with.

Also, it has come to my attention that www.typefrag.com will soon be entering the reseller market with a panel that is supposed to "outshine" the one Darkstar developed for it's resellers.

With either company, you likely won't be disappointed! :agree:

I've heard nothing but good things about Dark Star, if you haven't decided yet I'd say give them a shot.

I am a current dark star reseller customer, and I have to disagree. We will be terminating our service after only one month. Their Chicago Data centers have been extremely hectic and their ticket system is slow. Also their IRC is full of staff but as it stats "is a courtesy" meaning they dont have to talk to you if they dont want to. Steer clear of dark star, in my opinion they have extended beyond their capabilities.

This is surprising to me. I've never been a client, so I don't know first hand, but this is one of the rare instances of a bad review I've seen.

Who are you moving to?

I have used www.hurricanehost.com for Ventrilo Reselling before, and the quality of service was excellent, and it's also good if you're starting out on a low budget.

I have worked with http://www.nationvoice.com, terrible support, decent control panel, good latency and with http://www.hurricanehost.com which has excellent support, very customizable control panel, and decent latency.

Erick,

I am sorry to hear your experiences were not positive. Can you post your ticket id #'s that were not responded to in a timely fashion so I can see what went wrong?

I know we had some issues with two reseller machines in Chicago -- but it was not a facility-related issue as you seemed to have indicated with your post, but instead a hardware problem on two machines that were resolved quickly. Outside of that, and to stress the reliability of our Chicago location even more, Chicago has been more than meeting our 99.7% uptime guarantee, and there are no tickets from you indicating otherwise (If you were seeing problems, why did you not tell us about them).

As far as IRC support is concerned, it is not an official area of support, and has never been stated as such. IRC is for the community, and nothing more.

I reviewed your support ticket logs here and it does appear that your support ticket requests were responded to in a very timely fashion (GCK-300658 - 21 minutes and LNM-559862 - 4 minutes) -- so I am a bit confused why you are saying our support is slow.

I do know that it took a while to get your account setup (longer than expected -- about 5 days) due to facilities taking longer than expected to get back to us for additional IP Address space, but this is something that's not out of the ordinary when trying to get more address space from foreign providers.

With any customer, we do understand that issues could arrise -- but if you do not tell us about them, we really cannot get them resolved for you -- and from your support ticket logs, all of your issues were resolved in under 30 minutes.

Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your experience.

I would suggest checking one of the above recommendations or you may also want to email someone at www.typefrag.com about their new reseller panel. If I'm not mistaken it's going to have all the custom API options, etc that you will need.

Best of luck.

I can't say I've seen the same issues with Darkstar. Brett runs a tight ship, and the quality shines through. They did have a couple of hiccups in Chicago within the last month, but nothing that they didn't quickly resolve and explain in a RFO. Issues happen, but judging from the way they resolved the Chicago burps, and my personal experiences, Darkstar would be a solid option for a Vent Reseller. However, I don't believe they do TS........

I have worked plenty with both Nation Voice(nationvoice.com) and Make A Voice(makeavoice.com) Make A Voice has a Ventrillo/TeamSpeak reseller combined and a really nice administration panel. They are also a fair bit cheaper and definitely get my vote.

MakeAVoice lost their Ventrilo license a while ago due to some unfortunate events that took place.

Also, while anyone can sell TeamSpeak, generally we have seen that TeamSpeak is quite a bit less popular, and as such is why in particular that we do not support TeamSpeak resellers. We will re-examine our decision once TeamSpeak 3 is released.

I had a marketing research on both Ventrilo and TeamSpeak when I wanted to sell one of them. TeamSpeak is not only with worse quality as service, but keep in mind who wants to use TeamSpeak can download and host on their localhost and games comunities who need TeamSpeak have enough bandwith to keep a server too, which is reducing again the market share. Ventrilo does not give his server anymore(just demo version) after 2.1, because they know they have a better quality compared with TeamSpeak, and they sell just to hosting providers only.

However, the trick is that still exists ventrilo 2.1 server(even for linux platform) on the internet which is still free. And clients. And gamers use that. And in the future looks like there is "requirement" for any serious game to have in-game voice support.

That is unfortunate and I was unaware that that occurred. Thanks
