Hello,

I am considering to use www.EIRCA.com for some windows hsphere reseller hosting (http://www.eirca.net/get_started/). However, I noticed that there has been very few reviews (just one, actually) about them since they started offering this service.

They used to be known as diyhosting, but sold the company. It had a good reputation (at that time), and the owner seems to be fairly respected around here.

But... the lack of more than one review is a bit disconcerting, so I figured I'd ask to see if anyone who is using them could please comment and let me know how you're finding things.

- reliability of their windows servers
- speed of support/service requests
- general feel for the company (is it run well, communication is good/bad? Are you just a number or considered a valuable paying customer?)

Thanks!

Probably they do not have so many reviews as I believe they are not advertising in WHT and related sites. And judging from the number of servers they have publicly monitored by SiteUptime, I believe they have more dedicated clients than shared/resellers.

- reliability of their windows servers

I run only one site on windows server (just a static with some php pages) - no problem. Siteuptime stats and related announcements do not reveal any serious problem lately (except the Softlayer 30 minutes downtime) and some minor router/switch problem.

- speed of support/service requests

Responses/resolutions: sometimes in minutes, sometimes in less than 1 or 2 hours. No problem at all. Support staff is very friendly and quick.

- general feel for the company

I feel safe with them and I consider them a very reliable company. The must have great management and they are very experienced with H-Sphere. Communication is really unbelievable - live.eirca.net contains everything you need as support concerns (server status, live discussion, live chat, forum, knowledge base, flash tutorials, phone support, ticket support). They also send notifications, blog/company news etc frequently.

One point that has impressed me: on Christmas they offered to support all resellers' clients even though the first plan did not include end user support (it has changed now, all plans include free end user support).

Everything is fine so far (since November or so) - hope they continue to offer the same quality of service.

Hope this helps - now the reviews are two :)

Cheers / Antonis

A quick comment on reviews: There's actually quite a few reviews on us knocking around, including from some pretty well respected WHT mods :).

DIYHosting was indeed a subsidiary company of ours, though EIRCA has been in business much longer than DIYHosting. It was our third subsidiary (the other two were merged in to the EIRCA brand)

The dedicated VS Shared ratio, as Antonis correctly summized, is heavy toward dedicated as the new shared and reseller hosting service was only re-introduced one year ago, after a forced 18 month hiatus due to a non-compete agreement. At the current rate, though, shared should catch up around August as far as the number of servers are concerned. There's fifteen shared hosting servers in the cluster right now.

Antonis is apparently quite astute: He's also correct that we don't really push much effort in to WHT where advertising is concerned. We'll run the odd ad here or there but nothing sustained, it's really a cpanel heavy forum as far as the potential for shared/reseller clients are concerned and iNet aren't quite as accommodating as they used to be on targeted ads.
