Are these self managed?

Hi majordude,

The Planet's offers unmanaged dedicated servers, but if you are interested in server management options to bundle with your new server, WHT has a wealth of information about available options. If you would like a recommendation, please let me know and I'll be happy to share my perspective.

Best regards,

-Kevin

I did place an order for one server 18 Hours ago. I received a request to verify my identity 16 hours ago. I did reply with the requsted IDs attached immediatly.

The verification daprtment were supposed to call me for verbal verification, and I am still waiting (some 15 hours).

Of course sasles and customer services were contacted many times, BUT THEY CAN OFFER NO HELP.

I tried to get CS to direct me to Comlaints department, They do not have an email for such department, CS replied.
I used a different email address (to the one registered with them) and emailed sales + support asking them about their complaints process, I got NO REPLY. :)

Fanally, MY GOODNESS, Order cancelled.

Having 5 servers in 3 data centers, I must say, I never came across such time wasting.

Is the Promo still going on? Also, how does this apply to existing the Planet customer?

Also, we were told by the sales that in order to get a lower price server, we had to order the new server and cancel out our existing server, even thou it would the same configuration. Why can't we just get the lower price instead of having to migrate everthing from the current server to new server??

I'm sorry for your frustration in the ordering process with The Planet. Some orders may take as long as 72 hours to verify and provision, and when our new customers want their server as soon as possible, that provisioning window may seem like an eternity. If you'd like to include your order number or any ticket numbers, I ensure that managers in sales and customer service see your experience and follow up with any of the representatives that didn't provide helpful and friendly support as you were waiting for your order to be provisioned.

Best regards,

-Kevin

All of the above promos are currently active(assuming the promotional supplies are still in inventory).

The question about server pricing has been discussed at length here on WHT and on The Planet's customer forums. While the server migration may seem like an arbitrary hurdle, there are a few significant reasons for the policy. Take a look at the forum threads below and if you have any questions, please let me know.
