Crazy BigGaz 04-07-2008, 09:42 AM Hi, Have a look at NetHosted - http://www.nethosted.co.uk/ I use them for lovehangar.com uk1host 04-07-2008, 10:05 AM Have a look in the Offers section of the forum there are a few there or just search for uk hosting something is bound to turn up. vMOT 04-07-2008, 10:13 AM ive tried searching, couldnt come up wtth anythign productive.. also wanted actual reviews from people regarding their experiences.. uk1host 04-07-2008, 10:22 AM Have you looked in the Offers section instead of searching ? seedbox24 04-07-2008, 10:31 AM you can try these guys, excelent support and i use them for 2 of my sites. http://www.krystal.co.uk/ Jay August 04-07-2008, 10:57 AM vt6.co.uk has served my forums well for over 6 months, their UK servers and network have worked good for me. relichost 04-07-2008, 11:11 AM if you're worried about support, send a few sales emails at various times of the day (such as day time, evening and possibly weekend) that way you can establish if their support is going to be okay ~ServerPoint~ 04-07-2008, 11:37 AM But that would be sales support, not tech one ;) relichost 04-07-2008, 11:39 AM most hosts with less than 10 full time staff (and we all know that with less than 10 full time staff you can still have thousands and thousands of customers) will do a bit of everything. I know we certainly all do sales and support and we treat them all with the same priority, so unless you're looking at the likes of 1and1 it's more than likely the same people you're dealing with. Brian-de-vie 04-07-2008, 11:41 AM Are you looking for UK servers or UK business ? Many UK hosting businesses use US servers. Brian-de-vie 04-07-2008, 11:43 AM so unless you're looking at the likes of 1and1 Maybe not the easiest of tech. support to deal with  relichost 04-07-2008, 11:49 AM I know www.tsohost.co.uk are a good uk based hosting company - own servers on their own network in their own private cage with uk support based in their UK office less than 10 minutes away from their own UK servers. I have no problem recommending a competitor when that competitor is good at what they do. fishforcarp 04-07-2008, 11:51 AM Hi 2 of the best in the UK are: Clook.co.uk (Cpanel) or Unitedhosting.co.uk (Ensim pro). Both have 24hr support. Lewcy 04-07-2008, 11:55 AM Many UK hosting businesses use US servers. If you are uk based and looking for hosting then avoid such companies. Bottom line, the server you host on needs to be as close to your target audience as possile to ensure the fastest loading times. There are very few websites that need true 24 hour support as very few websites are truely global, most websites could be offline between midnight and 6am with no impact. That being said 'excellent support' is more than just being 24 hour so testing this doesnt give a good representaion of the level of support you can expect if there is a problem. vMOT 04-07-2008, 12:31 PM if you're worried about support, send a few sales emails at various times of the day (such as day time, evening and possibly weekend) that way you can establish if their support is going to be okay isnt sales and support 2 different departments in a company..i dont think you should go by that.. sales is generally slower than support from my experience at least.. vMOT 04-07-2008, 12:37 PM If you are uk based and looking for hosting then avoid such companies. I was simply going by what I know of quite a few service providers (I use this term as people with more than 10 servers) where the tech support and sales are handled by the same people. I'm not saying it'll work for every host, but I think for the small-medium service providers (again excluding those with less than 10 servers) you'll find that 90% of hosts will have the same group of people handling all sales/support/accounts emails |
