Hello There
I've been in the hosting game for some time now, almost 5 Years, I now own my own Hosting Business and its going well, Pays most of the bills anyway.
However, I have never had any VPS packages, I was wondering how hard is it to get that going? Is there a high grade server that I need, or higher than the two that I have?
Just wondering really if anyone could give me any advice as to if it was worth going into or not?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi
Thankyou for that. I'll have a look and see. I'll take into account costs and extra Support ticket staff, I supose the costs would increase a bit.
Cheers

Hi
Do you want to start doing VPS reselling? Or do you want your own dedicated server and start selling VPS plans from that?

I think he wants to own his own dedicated server and start offering VPS packages.

Some resellers furnish you with your own box/root... but your control panel is through their main node. You don't have to worry about licenses or setting up.

If your all ready hosting on those dedicated servers, it won't really work out for you. You need to install the virtualized kernel, the virtualization software, and you shouldn't have anything running on the main VPS node, only inside the VPS's you create on that node.
So I assume if your hosting is very low usage right now, you could technically back it all up, install VZ/Xen on the server, create a VPS, reinstall the control panel/software, and restore the files, but that would be a lot of work and would cause downtime for your clients.
