Hello,
Whenever trying to install an .RPM, which is somtimes needed to make routine upgrades to the system, I'm receiving the following error:
only packages with major numbers <= 3 are supported by this version of RPM
Now this is a known bug that is in RPM 3.04, and the simple solution is to upgrade to RPM 4. But it's really not that simple, because the only install files that I've found for RPM 4 were RPM files (pretty dumb eh?) so theirs really no way to upgrade. Others have told me to "Install them off a CD" - HAHA, right.
So now I'm left without the ability to make routine updates that my server depends on.
What was 4Webspace's response?
The same one for every question, "We don't support that".
My question is what DO THEY SUPPORT? It feels as though I'm colocating a server with them rather than a dedicated, because with colocation your required to provide your own support, and dedicated the company helps out (after all it's their server).
Any Ideas?
