Last year I bought a couple of rapid SSL certs for I believe $12 or $15 each. Now the certs are about to expire but for the life of me I cannot find or remember where to re-new my cert at that great price!

I tried searching WHT to no avail. If anybody knows could you please let me know because I'm not about to spend $70 just to re-new an SSL cert. I have 3 of them to re-new and that would be ridiculously expensive.

thePlanet is a much better place to renew than Godaddy your certs. Nice you found.

I want to stay away from godaddy's certs. I have heard of people having problems with their certs.

But what is the difference between Radpid SSL and Quick SSL? One is $14.95 and the other is $49... why the huge price in difference?

I mean both are suited just fine for a shared hosting server hosting websites which will be using the cert. So the Rapid SSL should suffice just fine :)

huge price difference is due to geotrust's certs being recognized by more browsers than rapidssl. almost all browsers know geotrust certs. get theirs.

But Rapid SSL works in IE, firefox, Opera and Netscape correct?

Therefore I think it would be silly to pay such a huge difference in price if Rapid SSL is supported in those main browsers... I see no point to that?

I don't need my cert to work with the Safari browser for example... not necessary.

After looking around, Go with the one where the link is at the planet. Cheap price and RapidSSL is awesome.

If i were you, i would go with Geotrust QuickSSL Premium and get their site seal and display it on my site too.

https://www.servertastic.com/ is $12.95 for RapidSSL, no catches or "gotchas" (we've used ServerTastic, Dynadot, Trustico, etc).

He's right my enom account let's me buy rapidssl certs at 10 bucks a pop.

The RapidSSL certs come with a seal but this is just a normal gif image.

The QuickSSL Premium certiicates have a site seal which is dynamic and contains the date.

Then you are looking at things like the True BusinessID or EV certificates if you want your company name in the seal.

This is true. One of the reasons we no longer get certs with them.
