Question... why dont web host providers offer custom plans? I never see them on their sites, so I think I did something that very few people do... I made a "Custom package system" that calculates the total and everything, its kinda cool..

http://www.ionichosting.com/index.php?hosting,custom

I think more people should do this...

Could confuse customers, would confuse billing systems, especially when they wanted to upgrade! :)

Yeah, it might be easiest to stick to predefined plans.

I think custom plans would cut away at the profits.

Its harder to keep track of clients on those sort's of plans. Most hosting companies will give you a custom plan if you email them just sticking to the usal plans saves alot of hasstle in setting up accounts etc.

Its good for ppl who know their exact needs. They can simply mail the hosting company and request the setup or simply order directly if the billing procedure allows.

I'd like to pay using a custom plan, save on space + can get lots of disk space!

You may want to stick to predefined plans, and leave the programming to others. :)

I looked at dot5hosting and made a custom plan: I will pay $4.25 per month, and I have everything I need with this plan. That's great!
