Is it possible to have some other O/S installed, namely Debian? If yes, at which conditions? Needless to say, we're talking about unmanaged servers here.

We don't currently offer Debian as an OS choice. However, we're considering it.

We've had a number of users make use of our "Network Rescue Boot" feature to net-boot their systems and install a different OS via the serial console port. That's all available standard on all of our servers. For the users that do that, it seems Ubuntu/Debian is the most commonly installed OS. We've seen at least one install of Gentoo as well.

Currently we offer installs of 32-bit and 64-bit flavors of CentOS 5.1 with "no raid", RAID 0, and RAID 1 storage options.

Do you guys offer reverse dns on all ip's that are assigned to the servers?

Also, you guys give the ability to install our own custom OS correct?

We do offer reverse DNS on the IPs assigned to the server; yes.

With regards to the OS -- we offer CentOS 5.1 32-bit and CentOS 5.1 64-bit along with your choice of RAID 0, RAID 1, or "no RAID". We don't offer installs of other OSes.

That being said, a number of our users have opted to network install their own OS using our "Network Rescue Boot" feature and serial console port.

If you need a custom OS or custom configuration done please email our sales department [ sales at take2hosting.com ].
