How thoughtless was this release?!

The SH shell is totally screwed, c libraries are stuffed and it crashes at will!

So, I upgrade to 4.6.1-RELEASE-p10 now we have the advisory for system calls which effect all versions prior to 4.6.2 :(

Lucky I dont run the bleeding edge on my production boxes or I would be very ****ty right about now :)

Thanks for the warning.. sorry to hear about your troubles.

I was just about to upgrade my 4.4 stable to 4.6 this week-end

You are not alone :)

I haven't dared to upgrade any production boxes. We had a test system, but that flunked badly on tests involving ATA RAID (!&¤"%) devices.

I haven't had any problems with the two 4.6 machines I've got. Just installed a third, we'll see how that one goes. :)

Running 4.6.2 on a new Dell PowerEdge 1650 without any troubles, putting it through the rounds before putting it in the rack. So far so good.

Haven't upgraded to 4.6 on any of the other servers though, just keeping up with the 4.5 security branch is sufficient.

I upgraded to 4.6 from 4.5 with no problems.

Rock solid, as far as our testing has found.

Perhaps you did an upgrade and left a few steps out, or are having other problems? Your problem report is so vague it almost sounds like a troll.

I am running 4.6.2 now without any problems.

I didn't leave out any steps, it is almost common knowledge that the src for SH is errorous, you need to downgrade (or upgrade) it from source.

The nl_langinfo library causes some conflictions with newly compiled software

And because of the amount of new libraries included, it is very painfull to downgrade.

4.6.2-p10 perfomed well, just the latest advisory ****ted me a bit :)

Kevin, are you running 4.6-stable?

In a few places, yes. Systemwide we're
beginning upgrades to it this week.

4.6 has been working fine for me.

Perhaps it would be helpful if you substantiated your assertions.

I remotely upgraded from 4.3 to 4.6 and seems to be working fine.

I have only had the best results with 4.6-release, though I did a full install, not an upgrade.

Have you done any upgrades to your freehost script?
