Well, not sure WHT is the right place to post this, but I am sure there are some pretty good XP experts out there (no pun intended ;) ).

I am consistently every day having this problem where I suddenly can't click anything; I can only right-click things. In fact, I am typing this message while this is happening. :( It took me about 5 minutes to go from checking my email to create a new thread at WHT. I can manage my way through all of my windows and everything, but it is very annoying. I am running Windows XP Home Edition on my Compaq Presario laptop (I won't go into any hardware specifications because I doubt it has anything to do with my hardware). Does anyone have any clue what the problem could be? I can't say how long this bug stays around because sometimes it just goes away after 5 minutes, other times I have to wait until the next day. Yes, I have tried rebooting and shutting down....

...So, any suggestions? :(

Try changing the batteries in your mouse if it's cordless and external. One of my clients always seems to find this works if he's having problems with it (and he goes through about 15 sets of them a year.)

Actually, I found that I have been using my mouse so much (the one that is built-in with the laptop) that now I have to sometimes click real hard. :bawling:

I think the mouse in your laptop is going... probably most definitely that...
