I have a photo of my mother which I took with my digital camera and then retouched it in photoshop to make her look a lot younger :)

She needs to have this photo printed onto her business brochures. Image is 6 by 8 inches in size and saved as a PSD file.

1. Can you usually take PSD files to any print shop or would I have to take it as a jpeg?

2. I have a problem because (when saved as jpeg) the image suddenly prints out HUGE and not correct size anymore which is supposed to be only 6 by 8 inches. I have tried and tried to fix it so that it prints jpeg correct size but it won't and comes out HUGE...

Yes they would require it as a .psd rather then .jpg anyway. Just send the print shop the .psd file and they will do the rest for you.
BTW it should be 300dpi CMYK if you want full colour best results.?

Ya ofcourse they would prefer psd, make it CMYK for printing.
