View Full Version : Webalizer config on the RaQ
eddy2099 08-18-2002, 03:25 PM I installed the Webalizer PKG from PKGMasters and was wondering how could I go about configuring it. What I need is to have it show me a longer list of referrers and URLs and stuffs.
I search the harddisk for the webalizer.conf file but could not find it. Could have missed it somewhere or by default, there is no .conf file ?
I appreciate it if someone could point me to the right direction. Thanks in advance.
Eddy
cbtrussell 08-18-2002, 06:02 PM It's located in /etc/
A default copy can be found in the docs at webalizer.com

eddy2099 08-18-2002, 06:15 PM Thanks Brandon. But I do not see it in there. I guess by default the PKG did not set up a conf file for me.
Anyway, I will download a copy from webalizer and do the modification in there.
Thanks again.
Eddy
blacknight 08-19-2002, 12:40 AM Try slocate webalizer.conf
There has to be 1 somewhere on the box
eddy2099 08-19-2002, 12:44 AM Thanks. I tried
Whereis webalizer.conf
Slocate webalizer.conf
All came up with nothing. I even tried slocate *.conf and still do not see it.
but there is a sample.conf somewhere around though. Maybe that would work. Will check that out. Thanks.

blacknight 08-19-2002, 12:50 AM Very odd...
Try this first:
/usr/bin/updatedb -f "nfs,smbfs,ncpfs,proc,devpts" -e "/tmp,/var/tmp,/usr/tmp,/afs,/net"
Rochen 08-19-2002, 01:00 AM Try "locate webalizer", it will no doubt list all the Webalizer tmp files etc. but you may be able to locate the config file somewhere in amongst there. When I did this on one of our boxes it listed nearly every Webalizer file, but the config was in there :)
Off topic: How is your new box ticking along, Edwin? :)

Before I apply this line, what does this do ?

Chris,
Thanks for asking. Well, the initial transition from shared hosting and dedicated was a little scary since I wasn't too familiar with Linux but so far everything went pretty smoothly until I requested for more IP addresses. That was when they had to move my box to a new subnet but did not inform me the new IP addresses. Even the primarily IP was changed. So it was nightmare having to change all those DNS stuffs but now everything is back to normal again.
Keep me updated when the W2K issue is resolved, I definitely require something in the future.
Thanks.

Sure thing, without trying to advertise here, but answer your question at the same time, if you look on our site, under "Windows 2000 hosting" you will see you can subscribe to a list to be informed when the service returns.
Anyway, I am glad to hear you are getting along okay with your new box :)
eddy2099 08-19-2002, 01:56 AM Chris,
Will do just that. No, I wasn't soliciting for any advertisement here too. :)
