Okay, I asked the other day about setting up MRTG on a LinkSys router. I have figured it out, sort of. I can run cfgmaker using the ip address 10.0.0.255, where the logs are sent. But when it creates the file, instead of probing the router, it probes one of my three computers on the network.

It produces the graphs, but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

Any suggestions? (btw: 10.0.0.1, the router's IP, will not accept SNMP connections, hence why I am working with 10.0.0.255)

Well... 255 is a broadcast.. Thats why one of your 3 computers are respoding :D


Note, I only skimmed over the question, and this seems the logical answer :D

So... one more question... why are the rest not responding as well? Just wondering... Two of the three are using the same wireless adapter, the third is using a different one (and is the pc I am using with MRTG on it).

So... All I really need is something to monitor the bandwidth to one of my PCs (The other two are laptops and are not used for large amounts of transfer anyway.

So... How do I get it to be pointed at this computer?

Maybe I am confused. :D

I know 255 is the broadcast address... but.... AGH How much I hate linksys now. :)

Nevermind... I figured it out. I didn't have SNMP installed on my PC. *sigh*
