I plan to register a domain which is gonna cost me $25/year.

Assuming after 1 week, I decided not to keep the domain how can I sell it to someone who's interested?

Thanks!

This section of the forum is more for appraising existing domains, but I'll try to give you a bit of an answer. First of all, I'm not sure what TLD (top level domain.. ie .com, .net, .org, etc.) you are considering registering, but if it is a .com, .net, .org, .us, .biz name 25/yr is way too high.

In any case, if you want to sell in 1 week (or within the first couple of months), then you need to make sure that you use a registrar that allows an internal push. Godaddy would be one example.

Then, we consider the market. There are many ways to sell a domain; you can try doing it right here on this forum, or you can use ebay... you can list a domain on sedo or any of a huge number of online venues. Keep in mind that there are literally millions of domains for sale at any given time and relatively few of the available names that are worth much more than there reg fees (yes, I know people are going to argue with me here... but the key word is relatively). If you already have someone who is interested, then it becomes a matter of payment. For something under a 100.00, I usually use paypal or have them send money order/cert check. Over this, you might want to consider an escrow service.

In any case, I'm really not exactly sure what info you are looking for from your post. Reply back with more details if you need more.

Best Wishes.

Good day desiredname,

My apologies for posting in the wrong section.

Basically I don't intend to make any more out of it once I've decided to sell.Just need to recoup the $25 I have paid. For you information, this isn't a .com, .net, .org, .us, .biz name. It's a country specific domain name.

Actually, there are domains from so many countries which are so expensive, either yearly, every two years, etc ....some offer lifetime registration for one time fee.

Look at some of the European registrars for certain countries in EU or just Europe, some depending on the registrar/s end up being over a hundred, some two hundred and more just for a year. Overpriced name. They just think that ppl are stupid, actually they think all are stupid and will buy for that much when others sell the same stuff for less, way less or moderate, etc...

[otisdog] an advice, at least give it a try. look at online domain live auctions, and give them a try. There I'm not sure if Moniker still has the April or May 2008 online domain live auction but there are others, not that many at certain dates. At least give these a try until you may find something else.

I, too, have a few domains and a couple of .org which I am looking to sell. :)

I guess it depends on what the domain is. If you were trying to sell books.be, you would have a much easier time than if it was lefthandedmoroccanhockeyplayers.be.

You might want to try selling the name at dnforum.com .
