Trent 08-18-2002, 08:34 AM Honestly, I am not for sure. I understand what IP address are for, but I'm in the process of switching hosting companies. This domain that I need the IP address changed on will be my main domain that I will host all the other ones under. I have tried the register a DNS function at enom and get the following response: Not a unique IP address or DNS The new hosting company says I can register the DNS anytime but I need to change my IP address first. I can't find any place to make the IP changes. I'm lost. Trent UH-Matt 08-18-2002, 10:37 AM you need the details of the "Name servers" for the host you are moving the domain to. it will be something like ns1.host.com and ns2.host.com you then need to login at enom and change the DNS settings for your domain to these two nameservers from your new host. Your new host can then point your domain wherever they want once it has had 24-48 hours to filter through and move onto there DNS. |
