We've finished developing our domain registration system, similar in the UK to 123-reg and UKreg, and we're looking for some beta testers.

- It can register UK/COM/NET/ORG/BIZ/INFO/TV domains.
- Transferring UK domains is free.
- All prices are charged in UK pounds sterling
- Comprehensive reseller API
- No charge to join

We're looking for UK-based testers at the moment, but if there are people more world-wide they're welcome too! Please send me a PM or email for more info if you're interested.

Anyways.. Are you wanting testers for the whole thing or just the reseller bit or even the cake eating bit :)

Thanks

We're looking for testers of the reseller API, the non-reseller interface, and basically feedback for all parts of the system.

I'm doing fine with the eating cake, no need for more testers on that. ;)

Count me in depending on the prices, email me the info, and what the rates will be: matt@unitedhosting.co.uk

or PM me or whatever :)

Since everyone seems to be more interested in the prices rather than how good the system is (understandably) I'm posting them here:

Our full price list is as follows:

(All include VAT where appropriate)

49reg

.uk
£3.19 per year (2 year minimum)

.tv
£29.99 per year

.com
£6.49 per year

.net
£6.49 per year

.org
£6.49 per year

.biz
£5.99 per year (2 year minimum)

.info
£6.29 per year (2 year minimum)

Will resellers get a discount or will theyre profit be whatever they put on top?

There will be bulk discounts available, but these have yet to be decided. At the moment resellers will only profit from the markup they use.

I am testing this service out, and I have to admit it is very simple to use!

The prices are great.

Once it gets some of the kinks worked out, it'll be pretty damn good.

maybe im just being tight, but for those prices its worth holding out for enom to launch .uk ?

It depends if you're looking to invest a few hundred quid to go direct, because at enom's registry rocket rates, this works out cheaper for me anyway.

Plus, I prefer to work with a UK company and be able to pay via Cheque or Solo card.

The .co.uk price is pretty amazing, I've just successfully completed registering ionserv.co.uk with them.

The prices are all cheaper than UKreg/123reg, have a look on the site to see the price comparison. Remember our prices are what you pay, not the ex-VAT prices you see on UKreg/123reg!

edb49 : Its ok for me to move a bunch of .uk domains onto you guys for free ? then when they are due for renewal pay your prices ?

edb49

Yes, that's fine - UK domain transfers are free unlike some other services :)

Site looks good, works well, good prices :)

The only drawback is the credit thing which you need to topup manually, but as you say its being worked on :D

Overall: 9.75 out of 10.

Get the credit thing sorted and a definate 10 out of 10 :D :D :D

Yes, currently automated payments can't be taken for a very simple reason. Bank of Scotland are incredibly slow at setting up credit card merchant accounts; we've been waiting over 3 months, gave them £15,000 and no result so far!

To say I'm annoyed would be an understatement :)

"Server IP - Advanced Functions"

what do i put in there ? my 2 ip's for my nameservers ?

edb49
08-19-2002, 04:33 AM
That's a part of the reseller API to allow instructions to be taken from a server that you put the IP of in there.
