Hi...
I was wondering the pros and cons of using webadmin vs Cpanel.
Very new to this, so im looking for opinions. I dont plan on reselling the server, but may offer free accounts to various animal rescues etc.
Other than that, I dont plan on messing around with the setup too much,,,
So i was wondering if Webadmin supported this....
Any suggestions, comparisons would be appreciated.
Thanks
T
I have not used Webadmin so far. Cpanel is the best and pretty cost effective too.

How could anything be more cost-effective than free (ie Webmin)? If you haven't tried the alternatives, how can you simply declare Cpanel to be the best?

Hi
Thanks for the feedback so far....but still looking for a little more detailed feedback.
I guess i would be looking for things that webadmin cant do. As per my previous post, I dont think i need anything fancy

Couple webmin with virtualmin and you've got yourself a killer combination. If you aren't reselling the server, then go for it. Webmin is more difficult to use, but it's not that bad. Not to mention the lower load you'll experience with webmin.
If the server is just for your use, and the few people that you give space, you can't go wrong with webmin.

thank kc, appreciate the input. Would Vadmin be an overlay to webadmin?
As you can tell, very new at this. what i was thinking was to create accounts (as cpanel allows you to do) and give them to the shelters.
Does webadmin allow this? How does VA make this easier?
I there is a tutorial on this, i would love a link
Thanks!

Virtualmin works with webmin and adds some nice features. You would use webmin to add new users to the system. Those users could then log in to virtualmin and add domains, email addresses, and etc..
Their demo video really explains it all

As well, I've never been part of a friendlier community than virtualmin. Their staff is quick to respond and they seem to honestly want to help you solve your problems, even going so far as to take a look at your server configurations themselves.
Alternatively, you can go for a middle ground with directadmin. It isn't free like webmin, but it's also not as expensive as cPanel. It's easier to use than webmin, and with a lower load than cPanel.
Just some thoughts for you.
