sadistikal 08-17-2002, 02:44 PM I'm interested in what people think.
"In one of the more bizarre (and intrusive) spinoffs of the Government's 'crackdown on terrorism,' Officials of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration have told Northwest Airlines security specialists that the agency is developing brain-monitoring devices in cooperation with a commercial firm, which it did not identify. Space technology would be adapted to receive and analyze brain-wave and heartbeat patterns, then feed that data into computerized programs 'to detect passengers who potentially might pose a threat,' according to briefing documents obtained by The Washington Times."

Disclaimer I've not yet read the article...just your post....
With all of the reasons people find themselves flying, I'd find this method to be complicated at best...
Is he stressed because he's going to an important business meeting? A funeral? To meet his daughter who is on her way to a heart transplant? To meet that chick he's been chatting with on the Internet? Because he's scared of flying? Or because he's going to hijack the plane?
I'd like to keep my brain waves and heart beats to myself thank you....
Pilgrim 08-17-2002, 03:02 PM I smell new market opportunities. I'll market little aluminum foil hats that can be put on and block your brainwaves. One size fits all!
Can I copyright my brainwaves?
And to think we owe this all to a couple of hundred votes going into the wrong direction *hits head on keyboard*
Oh Great Idea! After you establish the market and set it at a high price... I'll follow up with a do-it-yourself kit :D
Bannaz 08-17-2002, 04:45 PM More radiation. :(

No way! I posted my idea 2 minutes before you posted. I'll fight you over trademark rights!
I've already got some great marketing plans. I'll contact the Disney Corporation and get a license for making the hats with Mickey Mouse ears to get kids to wear them.
And maybe I can get Britney to wear one in her next video and it'll become a fashion statement!
Hey, maybe someone will wear one to the Oscars' next year and I'll be interviewed on CNN as the person who designed her hat!
Whoohoo! $$$ *sings a happy tune*
Pffttt all of those companies would put you through the ringer with the lawyers and terms blah blah blah..
Go for the easy market... ***** likes to advertise in 'off the wall' places and enjoys being the first to do so... e.g. they'll lay down the bucks fast and easy. ADDR advertises EVERYWHERE other hosts advertise so once you get the ***** contract tap on ADDR's shoulder.... ahhh it's so easy to get rich fast when you're just babbling on a message forum :D
Disclaimer: no offense intended to either of the above hosts who do a fine job of advertising
Pilgrim 08-17-2002, 05:53 PM Update:
I just wrapped my hamster in kitchen aluminum foil and put him in the microwave for testing.
Gotta wait till monday now when stores reopen to get another roll of aluminum foil and a new hamster to continue testing :(
Ah yes, messageboard wealth. If only we were all as rich and successful in business as we claim to be here

Webdude 08-17-2002, 06:22 PM ...and then soon they will require a device on your wrist or forehead that will not only do this, but identify you and everything about you as well. Even credit info and payments. Walk thru a grocery line, pay by getting your wrist or head scanned. :D
How would you feel then?

How would you feel then? That's already done...

For now they are marketing it as a way to carry around medical info on yourself but it's "potential" is far beyond the suggestions in this post...
Those who fear it... beware it's here...
Those who have been waiting for it... you can buy now.
MikeM 08-17-2002, 08:41 PM I just wrapped my hamster in kitchen aluminum foil and put him in the microwave for testing.

michaeln 08-18-2002, 01:16 AM Hrmm..
Kid doesn't get his way and is angry with parents while walking through machine. Machine picks up bad brain waves. Kid is arrested for terrorism.
ned patter 08-18-2002, 02:35 AM NASA there a aircraft company and don't deal in hospital stuff..
Hu Hu Hu.
Nasa are neds and are useless so there a waist of money because all they do is fly up stuff for companys which harm the earth and people that fly up only do it because they like it, they don't actually do anything apart from feel good.
The worlds paying so these people can get a buzz.
