View Full Version : Bulk Email Sending Company?
zymic 03-12-2008, 10:57 AM Hello,
I'm looking to offload sending emails from my server, and use an external provider. I need a company which hosts servers suited for sending mass amounts of emails. I would like to export my MYSQL email data and then import it to the provider, and use their resources to send the emails.
I'm not talking about spam or anything like that, I have over 60,000 members who wish to receive our monthly newsletter.
I know there are companies out there which do this, but are there any recommendations?
Thanks
eming 03-12-2008, 01:47 PM try to look up people like silverpop.com
moosh28 03-12-2008, 02:59 PM Another option is http://www.premiereglobal.com/
jayglate 03-12-2008, 07:07 PM A good company to work with is Puresend www.puresend.com
Panopta 03-12-2008, 07:18 PM We've had good luck with www.icontact.com and www.aweber.com. Both have support for bulk imports of addresses.
applicurearun 03-16-2008, 08:28 AM I love http://www.icontact.com/
zymic 03-16-2008, 08:55 AM Any places which are cheaper? iContact want me to pay $330 per month which is just too much.
With 60,000+ members - look into a VPS or small dedicated server and a software program like OEMPro from Octeth.
http://www.octeth.com/products/oempro/
I've used Octeth for about 4-5 years now. Their product is rock solid, offers many add-ons and is affordable. About the cost of one month with iContact from post #7. I send to about 25,000 members between 6 lists and it works like a dream.
Best,

About the addresses in your existing MySQL DB...
Octeth OEMPro can pull addresses from external MySQL databases - so if you're collecting email addresses from some other system, maybe a CMS system, then you can have OEMPro pick these addresses out when sending without having to import. It just connects to the remote DB.
Hope that helps!

chenetwork 05-17-2008, 01:35 AM What's your monthly budget and do you need to incorporate more than just full name and email address into the database?
gzola 05-21-2008, 10:19 AM I've heard a lot of +ve feedbacks for aweber.com.
I think each of the company listed here has its own strength and weaknesses, pick the one that suits you the most.
RyanPIE 05-29-2008, 02:08 PM listmarketer. com is awesome! They are our client and we are their client. haha and the support there are super nice.
hostouch 06-02-2008, 09:24 AM All I would say is don't go VPS or dedicated. Off loading to another provider (outsourcing) is the best option. I always try to avoid mass emailing on any of my servers, at some point you're gonna get blacklisted!
kstreethosting 06-10-2008, 12:05 AM Try using PHP list... Be careful and dont spam though. No one likes a spammer. :-)

chenetwork 06-13-2008, 04:12 PM How fast do you need the emails to be delivered? There are some providers that would allow you to host your email marketing system relatively inexpensively. If you use a third party emailing service, you're looking at significant costs due to the size of your list, but other options are available.
hostlab 06-14-2008, 12:07 PM We use www.aweber.com
vancouvercolocation 06-17-2008, 07:58 PM I like Aweber.
As for hosting your own application, I don't recommend it. You'd be fighting to get off spam lists all day long. Outsource it so a pro!
