On 03-25-2002 08:21 PM I sent payment of $35 to HostScripts (WHT Member) for a Billing Script & have only heard from them once, a couple days later asking if I wanted it customized to match my site.

I have sent them several Emails & PM's over the past few months without as much as a simple "still working on it" reply.....
Why can't I get a response from you HostScripts ?????????????????????????????????????????????

You can file a request to charge back with PayPal.. You give your side of the story and the person that got paid tells their side and PayPal decides who is right.

I have seen people get there money back

Maybe he is dead? :(

Or maybe he ran off with the money? Gone to hot Jamaica to start a new life with $35! ;)

Seriously though thats not very good service at all, surely he wasn't the only person who was working at this site, was he?!

If he had died someone must have known about his internet activity and posted something on his site etc?

Hmm I don't know, whatever happens though I don't think I will be dealing with them in the future, my clients would kill me if I didn't reply to an email within 3 hours, let alone how many months! :stickout

The domain according to DNS records comes up: [ERROR: The root servers say that the domain correlltechnologies.com does not exist.]

Not a good sign.

Also the email address is not valid as well (the domain name isn't listed in the nameservers records)

I have an update.
With a little investigation, It seems that brandon has sold the domains & shut down his business but the new owner has given me brandon's home phone & personal email address......
;)

We will see how he replies to my attempt to collect.
Oh yes, it was $40.00 I paid, not $35.00.....................

I know it is not a lot of money but it is the principle!
It's the idea of someone taking your money & you never hear from them again.
I don't care if it was just $1.00.......if you are going to sell a product, then give the customer something even if it is Crap!

If I was a rich man with a lot of time on my hands, I would trace the phone number & get his home address & would pay him a little visit personally.
I bet he would pay up then, when a 6'2", 300 pound man demanded his $40 back, at his Front Door!
;)

That's all!!!!!!!!

Semaj, I agree with you completely, what he has done is a form of theft, he has not delivered the paid for goods, you have a right to get your money back and compensation even!

I hope I never come across this person!

It is sad that a company goes out of business like that but your project should not have been that huge that they would not have known at the time they accepted your money that they were not going to complete it.. It is THEFT and you need to act on any information you can get..

Maybe the new owner will make a good will guesture and just do the job for free to regain your trust in them??

You might want to see if they would work something out with you.. tell them that you will be using their service more in the future for being "good guys"

Just a thought.
