Please read this all the way through before slandering me

I am looking to buy some small text links on websites. I am willing to pay $2.00 US for each of them (each = all 4 links). The links do not need to be near the top of the page... for all I care, you can make them fon't size 1, put them bottom left of your page and make them the same color as your background... but there are a couple of conditions.

1. You must leave all 4 links up there forever.
2. Code must be unaltered.
3. You MUST be indexed with major search engines (mainly google).

Here is the code that I need put on pages, as you can see it's very simple. The only thing you can change in this code is the font color/size (feel free to make the size 7 if you like, lol).

<font size="1">
<a href="http://www.battleforums.com">http://www.battleforums.com</a>&nbsp;-&nbsp;
<a href="http://www.diabloforums.com">http://www.diabloforums.com</a>&nbsp;-&nbsp;
<a href="http://www.warcraftforums.com">http://www.warcraftforums.com</a>&nbsp;-&nbsp;
<a href="http://www.starcraftforums.com">http://www.starcraftforums.com</a>
</font>

To get the $2.00, just put this code on your site, then e-mail me at support@battleforums.com with the URL that you've put it on and your paypal address. Then i'll send you the $2.00 after i've checked your site out and made sure it's up correctly and also made sure you're indexed in google. Please Note: I am only looking for a limited amount of people to put their link on their site, 25 at most. Last time I did this for my other site I got alot of people emailing me, so i'm putting the 25 limit on this, cause I don't have more than $50 right now :) So this is first come, first serve... after 25 I will edit this post saying it's over.

Thanks,
SkuZZy

I appreciate the fact that you took the time to read my post all the way through before slandering it (sarcasm). Please read it over... you will see that the links do not need to even be visible (literly).

Why not just use the $50 to purchase ad space at somewhere the audience is right for your site?

Well he might not have researched properly....
OR

That is 2 expensive... your not guranteed clicks.. and it won't be there forever. See here... he gets to pay someone to put it up on there site forever AND guranteed link populiarty if they are listed in SE's.... And also he could have 25 sites for the $50 you would pay 1 site.

Battler Am I right? If not excuse my big mouth :)

I'd rather get my links on other sites. Also, I am open to link exchanges, but the thing is, my site isn't listed in search engines yet (which is why i'm doing this) so a link exchange probably wouldn't benefit anyone. Also, I know $2 doesn't seem like much, but how long does it take to put up a link? You could put this link up and e-mail me in like 3 minutes... and it's not like anyone is even gonna notice the link anyways :) If anyone would rather exchange links (in lieu of selling one) then i'm open to that too, but sites must be indexed in google. Also, you don't need to put the link on all your pages, you only need to put it on one page that is indexed with google (IE: A links page... or a sponsors page).

Thanks,
BattleForums

Overture requires a minimum $50 deposit just to open your account. Also, they won't help me get indexed with search engines (well, they will, but it will take the same amount of time as it would normally), unless I bid top 3, then I get premium results... but many categories that i'm interested in have a minium $0.15 bid to get into the top 3. Considering how many clicks i'd get, I couldn't afford that.

Cpanel has something to submit your site to google and others. My site was added not long ago.

My site will get submitted automatically. I'm looking for links to increase my rank in google, not so much to get indexed...

I may be mistaken, but don't search engines like Google ban sites who put links in small fonts same color as background? This could work against you and whomever takes you up on your offer.

Google doesn't do that. If they did, then what would stop me from putting a link to your site on my site (in small font w/ same BG color) and getting you banned from google? The only thing google bans people for is people who cheat. I don't think this is cheating at all... i'm paying people to put links on their site... same as paying someone to put banners on their site.

$2 via paypal?
I think paypals' transfer fee would cost about the same. so we get a couple of cents in the end.

Some comments

DON'T put links with the same font color as the background - this will trigger the spam filters in Google & nobody will benefit.

You have this dangerously mixed up - it wouldn't be the site in the link that got banned - it would be the site with the link on the page in hidden text that risked being banned.

If you are going to buy links then be sure that you get the most benefit - your current html will not bring you very much benefit with google.

Consider a different price for stes that have a different PageRank - buying a link on a PR 1 or 2 site is money wasted. Only buy links on sites with PR 5 or more - but expect to pay more - on a high PR site (the only type of site that will give you any benefit) $15 - $30 a month min would be a fair price .

Although the current idea has a lot of merit - with your current plan you seriously would be better spending the $50 down at the pub - you'll get more satisfaction in the end.

I'll second NovaW...

However, the concept (although not entirely original) does have some merit.
I'd also recommend that the link text(s) contains your keywords rather than just the URL, as google uses this information to rank your site by keyword. I.E. "Battle Net Starcraft Forums".

I believe a fair price based on PR would be:

PR1-3: $5 (life of site, or until change of PR)
PR4: $5 per month
PR5: $10 per month
PR6: $15 per month
PR7: $30 per month
PR8-10: Alot More :)

Remember, links will have to be visible (color wise) in order for google to index the pages properly.

Generally i think it's a good idea, since we all know google likes links.
What i just do is to look for the 8 keywords that match my site best and are in the keywords, title, and description tag. I'll look them up with google and try to exchange links with the top25 sites (also checking theire pagerank in the google toolbar) i'll exchange about 10 links on the mainpage and unlimited on the linkspage.
Till now this gave me a top 25 position everytime.
